My attempt…
1. Melbourne – Jack Watts
With Neitz gone, Melbourne’s rebuilding phase begins with Watts
2. West Coast – Daniel Rich
Rich will help to start to fill the void left by Judd, Cousins, maybe even Kerr. Will make an immediate impact as he is ready made
3. Fremantle – Nicholas Naitanui
With Aaron Sandilands then sh1t all, Naitanui will be handy for Freo. He will be the athletic back up ruckman all clubs are interested in
4. Port Adelaide – Tyrone Vickery
Pretty much a done deal, but Lade’s time is just about up, and Vickery will one day be the first in line ruckman, whilst also being able to be a KPF David Hale style
5. Essendon – Michael Hurley
The Ryder/Hurley Combination will be formidable in a couple of years, and he will replace Fletcher
6. Carlton – Jack Ziebell
Could be the KPF to help Fevola, or he could be the midfielder to help Judd and Murphy
7. Brisbane – Steele Sidebottom
Will be an awesome player and midfielder to initially help out Power and Black, and then go into a class of his own
8. Richmond – Lewis Johnstone
Richo is not going to be around forever and there is definitely a bit of a lack of a key forward down at Punt Road, I really rate Johnstone.
9. North Melbourne – Luke Shuey
This pick will surprise everyone IMO, a gritty in and under midfielder who wins the ball regularly, Joel Selwood-esque
10. Adelaide – Chris Yarran
Has experienced senior football in the WAFL, but has a tendency to be lazy. Skills are impeccable
11. Collingwood – David Zaharakis
Can really play, a good running midfielder, to fill the Scott Burns gap maybe, but can also run off half back really well
12. Sydney – Jackson Trengove
A CHB they desperately need with LRT going nowhere and Leo Barry close to retirement
13. St Kilda – Aaron Cornelius
Probably a bit overrated on this board but with Kosi not doing much/moving into the ruck, another forward to help out Riewoldt will be needed
14. Western Bulldogs – Ayce Cordy (FS)
A real steal here as he will be an awesome ruckman for when Ben Hudson retires
15. Geelong – Hamish Hartlett
Would find it hard to slip into the Geelong midfield but could play a role off the half back flank swapping into the midfeld.
16. Hawthorn – Jordan Lisle
Just about the pick of the ‘bigs’ down back in the carnival. What he lacks in agility he more than makes up for with his mature football mind and strong hands overhead. The key defender Hawthorn is missing.
