Who is funding the signs, the flags, the pictures, the banners, the leaflets, the headbands, the encampment tents and food supplies, leading the chants? Concerned individuals who only want peace?

But yeah, what the hell would Jennings know any better than Dapper Dan?

Do you think you fit this profile?

Australians are too naive about this growing threat, not withstanding Burgess’s attempts to tell us what we need to know. A parliamentary committee inquiry would lift the scales from the eyes of many that refuse to see the risk from domestic interference against Australia’s way of life.

If the aim was to sow division I'd say they've been pretty successful.

An 'editorial' in The Australian newspaper today far below (rightly, wrongly or something in between) still has them classified as anti-Semetic attacks.

Although the below appears to be ignoring that the young criminals physically carrying out the attacks were all (assumed from that has been reported so far) paid (in some way) to undertake the attacks.

What would be interesting to know (albeit rather controversial and is never going to happen) would be to interrogate all the alleged and guilty attackers, if they would have been prepared to have carried out similar attacks (if remunerated) on churches, mosques, and other buildings that had nothing to do with any religion whatsoever, like government schools, supermarkets, medical centres. To try and ascertain whether there were any underlying factors that were influencing whether to accept or reject the criminal work of attacking Jewish related buildings in ways that had the potential to cause injury or loss of life (including psychological injury), as well as physical, financial and other consequences that occur in these range of attacks.

Holding Jews collectively responsible for actions of the state of Israel is a component of the IHRA definition of anti-Semitism. Which is what one could strongly argue is a key component of what the Iranian State backed IRGC is alleged to have done in the two Sydney/Melbourne attacks they are now alleged (by Australian authorities) to have instigated behind the scenes. That Iran ordered the attacks on Australian Jewish 'assets' as punishment to it's enemy the State of Israel, and Jewish people in Australia supporting the State of Israel.

Holding all Israeli residents, or all Israeli citizens, or Jewish people in Israel, responsible for all actions of the State of Israel is bad enough, let alone collectively holding all practising and non-practising people of Jewish faith or heritage (in Australia or any other country) responsible for all actions of the State of Israel.

Keeping in mind, that collective responsibility (and collective punishment) being alleged to be used by the State of Israel against Palestinians in Gaza in regards to Hamas, is still a live war crimes issue.

...
Mr Burgess and investigators, supported by Five Eyes security partners including US intelligence, have excelled at protecting the nation, connecting the dots of a complex network of encrypted communications, cryptocurrency and financial transactions crisscrossing the globe. They focused on young criminals in Australia who were actively recruited, radicalised online and encouraged to commit anti-Semitic attacks. As Mr Burgess said: “Iran and its proxies literally and figuratively lit the matches and fanned the flames … It’s a layer cake of cut-outs between the IRGC and the person or the alleged perpetrators conducting crimes.” In between, they tapped into agents of the IRGC and people they knew in the criminal world and worked through them. “There’s an organised crime element offshore in this,” Mr Burgess said. “They put lives at risk, they terrified the community and tore at our social fabric.”'
Considering 100s of tobacco shops have been firebombed in recent years for financial rewards, I'd assume it would be pretty easy to find people to comit almost any crime you wanted, for the right price. Pravda Australia has also been busy under foreign influence. Just a matter of how much we want to let these type of activities impact our civil rights under false banners.

Synagogues, Jewish schools, homes and vehicles have been targeted and linked to Iran and you think antisemitism doesn't fit the description? How would you describe it if Mossad had been directly linked to attacks on Australian mosques, Muslim schools, vehicles and property? Would you be in a thread labeled "Islamophobic attacks" and arguing for a name change.
For some attacks, it may yet be shown that they are antisemetic in nature. Police are more commonly reporting them as part of the criminal gig economy though. For Iran, they've been weakend by sanctions over many years and this is most likely a similar but larger scale version of destabilisation activities. I'd imagine they'll become more common with their proxies so weak now. I'm sure the fear for Jews is real, but it's not the motivating factor. It does however result in more authoritarian policies abroad.

Israel claiming credit….

Iran's Foreign Minister reacted with exactly the same rhetoric against Albanese that Netanyahu used, which was to call Albo "weak".

Great.

Peter Jennings in The Australian also brings up another important aspect - the protest marches.

"Finally, many participants in protests in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and other capital cities should now rethink their involvement in a movement that, at its fringes, poses a threat to national security.

We see on our television screens that these protests are not simply comprised of good-spirited people wanting peace in the Middle East. There are individuals holding the Hamas flag and carrying pictures of the Iranian Supreme Leader.

The Palestinian protest movement remains at its fringes a dangerous cauldron of extremist ideology, which we now know is vulnerable to manipulation by foreign governments.

Anyone that thinks that it’s a simple matter to participate in a protest movement needs to understand that they run the risk of aligning themselves with actors that have bad intentions for our country."

I was at the Brisbane march with my family on the weekend. We walked alongside muslims , Jews , Christians. It was the most incredible feeling seeing so many people from such diverse backgrounds unified against the starvation of children. I stood next to a Palestinian man who broke down and hugged a Jewish woman and thanked her for her support.
I have no idea who this Peter Jennings bloke is but what an absolutely pathetic take on what was a truely moving event to be a part of .

Love over hate

The organiser of your parade couldn't even find the courage to condemn the protestor waving a Hamas flag hiding behind a mask.

350,000 people across Australia marched together to end the starvation of innocent children.

We are so far past the point of condemnation of Hamas, but in order to satisfy you ‘I condemn Hamas’ .

But back to starving children , was incredible to see so many people United in solidarity

This Peter Jennings AO bloke has been the executive director of the Australian Strategic Policy Institute, after a government career in defence and security, including Deputy Secretary for Strategy in the Defence Department (2009-12); Chief of Staff to the Minister for Defence (1996-98) and Senior Adviser for Strategic Policy to the Prime Minister (2002-03).

I’m pretty sure he’s made a long and continuous study of international strategic relations and understands a lot more of what’s happening than randoms on BF.

Of course a large proportion of protesters attend marches for wholly noble reasons, but the proliferation of terrorist paraphernalia at many gatherings, including on the Harbour Bridge is an ominous sign that less benign forces are infiltrating them.

We are cosy and insulated here far from conflicts, have never experienced what many other countries suffer. Love over hate is what we believe but the regimes like Iran believe the opposite. It is very hard to grasp the ideology that drives them. It can’t be negotiated or appeased away.

Yes ... I'm sure our intelligence agencies are across this and I thought it was common knowledge. Iran's been rounding people up and executed one or two they suspected of spying recently. One for sure but I didn't follow up how the rest of them fared.

Iran also has their spies all over the world.

If I was a westerner over there atm, I'd get out as fast as I could.
More than one or two…

Incidentally, bengrina , were there any signs calling for the release of the Jewish hostages or condemning Hamas? No, I didn’t think so.
Did you check every person in attendance nation wide that quick?

Impressive

Early on they weren’t. But even then no signs demanding the release of the hostages or condemning Hamas.
What are you looking for mate?

I condemn hamas and want them tried for their war crimes
I want the hostages released
I condemn the IDF and want Israeli ministers tried for their war crimes
I want Palestinian children to have access to food and stop being murdered

Where do you stand?
