Anyone Find Ellen Degeneress Funny?

Maybe I've been living under a rock - but what are you talking about?

I vaguely remember Ellen - a crappy US sitcom, and think she was a recurring character on another show - but haven't seen or heard from her in years.

Is this like the gossip shows on tv sometimes?

As for funny I don't think the word funny should be used in the same sentence as her name.

I have the same issue with Jeremy Clarkson.

I don't find her funny at all but I think she's a good host. Certainly doesn't look 50 either.

Still, I find when I watch her shows late at night, she's a bit too self-absorbed.

The last truly funny woman to appear on American TV was Gracie Allen. Her final program aired in 1958. Gracie starred in 'The Burns and Allen Show', with her husband George Burns, in nearly 300 episodes over 9 seasons.

I don't mind her, but there's something about her that makes me wonder. Has a good attitude, and i dig her sense of humour (although some things are a little out of left field).

Actually reminds me of Martin Short - not having a regular gig, then getting an oppertunity as a talk show host. Although at least her stint has lasted a lot longer in the one 'format' (his show in 1999 lasted a grand total of 1 season ). I'm referencing the MSS as i find that both are similar in that it's not about the guests, rather more attention on the side games..... guests are secondary and when they are on..... not given THAT much time to talk about themselves or shill their stuff.

I don't think it's award winning tv (funnily enough it has won a fair share of daytime tv awards), however it's something to watch if there's nothing else on.
