That wasn't what they were discussing. I did pick up a few snippets involving certain players in the GWS game, but it wouldn't be the decent thing to repeat them here.
Great report. Keeping that to yourself is wise.

Cheers again, Neil.
Walshy being there for this difficult period at the club should be a real (rare?) positve.

So we're going after Cameron and Lobbe!!

He always looks sensational Saintly. He's a beautifully balanced mover. Looks to have the skill set. Can he play? Does he have footy smarts? Dunno.
Just imagine he actually can play and play good?
If only if only

don't worry...we around here will pick up the ball and the bizarre speculation will far outrun the reality...

Good to hear as he over overruns it quite often and it has cost us goals.

I'll preface this by saying, I like Maynard's chances as a player...BUT isn't it a savage indictment of Braydens past coaches and the guy himself that we have to wait for him to play 50 or so games before someone teaches him how to pick the ball off the ground ?

BTW, I suggested to a Collingwood media person last week that the club might investigate the idea of a Lou Richard's recipe book....or even a mock-up of one. I remember Lou bamboozling Jack Dyer and Bobby Davis with his 'foreign' soups and dishes every week in League Teams. Edna provided the recipes from memory. Ah, the memories.

I happened to be in the area when they were going through the ball moved from end-to-end. The mids stood out compared to the rest of the groups and Grundy is a dominant force in the ruck when he palms it to Treloar, Greenwood, Adams, etc.

Callum Brown is also pushing his case and not far away from playing. He's a hard worker who is beautifully balanced and great vision in traffic. If he's in the mix this week I think he will play, as it's better to go too early as opposed to one week too late for a debutant.

I still struggle to see who will replace Reid in the forward line as a hit up man, he perfected the role so well last week and freed up Moore, though Mason Cox is next in line he doesn't present to the ball like a good forward should.

From what I saw in the back half, my sense is they will pick someone smaller for team balance, it's likely Schade will miss if this is case. Dunn and Goldsack can go tall, with Howe being the sweeper.

So Darcy Moore does a lot of ruck drills at training and he does it at AFL level the following week. Think I'll keep an eye on Matty Sharenberg this week then.

Yes, keep an eye on whether or not Bucks says hello to him at the very least acknowledges his existence :P

i see it as a savage indictment that he hasn't asked to be shown... or bothered to practice.

i actually taught myself to ride a bike at 5 years old

With our game on Sunday, does anyone know if we'll have a training session on Friday morning? I'm keen to head down.

Numurkah. Had a couple of mad uncles, twins, who were GPs up there. If it was long enough ago they may have patched you up. Unlikely though as you survived.

well it was so long ago, doctors used to bleed their patients to cure them of ills...

actually it reminds of a time when my sister was dinking me down campbell street and she ran us into a garbage truck...but she was quick enough to move her head to one side... the edge of the truck cut my head in half... i never made it to the doctors even though i bled for hours and still have the scar. My mother was from the post depression era where you had to be dead to call a doctor, and evidently i wasnt quite dead

Training Notes from Thursday 1st June
Cold and cloudy, no breeze - 11C.

Not Training:
Jesse White
Limited Training:
Ben Reid
Ben Sinclair
**Rupert Wills
Travis Varcoe
**Rupert ran steady laps for about 30 minutes but left the track at 10:30 and I swear he was limping.
Travis looks weeks away. He just ran slow laps.

Most of the work centred around clearance drills today. The players rotated through about 5 set drills. Onballers, forwards and backs worked together. A lot of work was put into ruck contests from boundary throw-ins. In this drill, Cox was opposed to Grundy, whilst Moore and Mitch McCarthy were pitted against each other. Grundy was trying to flip the ball backwards to a running mid.

In handball drills 8 players were opposed to to each other in teams of 4. Pendles was very involved and for a while I thought he was running this drill. Spoke at length to Daicos and appeared to be developing a new style of very fast handball; it was sort of a throw/paddle.
After he did it 3 times I concluded it was no accident.

One of the other 5 drills was goal kicking, where Bucks stood on the mark and a player on the 50 metre mark attempted to deliver to a leading forward under pressure. There was also a set-shot drill.

Thankfully, a few beards will disappear tonight as the players defeated the coaches in the goal kicking competition.

Today's session was the most animated I have seen the group. There was a real sense of camaraderie. Early in the session, Pendles led the entire group on a jog to the AAMI wing. Once there, they formed a circle and had a chat. When they broke up there were broad smiles all round.

If training were the key to selection, Callum Brown selected himself. He was impressive today.

The TV crews kept a close eye on Faz and as one cameraman remarked, probably the best place for him - out on the field with his mates. He trained well.

Happy to answer any questions.
