This report was great and won me over early.

Especially the 2 lines above

"positively fizzing at the bunghole in anticipation". I'm not 100% certain I needed to know that but thought it a brave admission anyway.

Love it that you can hit anything from 6 iron up out of sight

Well done

More a statement of my poor eyesight than any extraordinary physical prowess to launch it Dali Lama long.

I might suggest any keen golfers that are travelling to Brisbane for Round 7 to bring the clubs.
There's some quality tracks close to the CBD.
Happy to extend an offer to any travelling Pies if looking for a round the day prior.
Pie talk and a round of golf, no better preparation.

Bunghole will be de-fizzed. Although with the prospect of watching the boys on the Sunday might prove problematic.

Thanks Ted Parker . A great and informative read. No sign of Tom Phillips? He was missing the other day and just wondering what the issue is with him.

Yes Flipper was there. Moved well and looks ready fit to continue on as a link player. He won't develop a bull-like physique like Maynard or De Goey but his endurance noticeable. Solid contributor.

...I wander past approx. 200-300 of my Collingwood brethren in the stands below The Wally Fankhauser Clubhouse. Is there a better Clubhouse name in the country?

Outstanding report Ted - thanks!

The only thing better than 'Wally Fankhauser" would be its spoonerism

Got this via text this morning:
McLarty trained exceptionally well, he took Grundy to the cleaners around the ground
Murphy being used as a KF due to his exceptional marking
So McLarty is now Grundy's butler?

i could see that. Does he have to pick up after Broomy (ironic that) as well, considering he's Grundys bestie?

So McLarty playing in the Ruck now?

With the lack of KPF I would not be shocked that Murphy could play as the 2nd KPF

Phillips did the run day 1 (pictured behind Pendles and Adams) so he's up there.

I’d say it was more along the lines of Grundy was playing more a forward role and McLarty was on him.

If we could turn Murphy into a Gunston type that would be ideal.

For those not in Melbourne it's nearing 40 degrees Celsius.

How good is it that our team is in the less oppressive heat of QLD and enjoying training

Well Grundy just been playing Ruck since he Joined us so his Forward Line Work should Improve with more GameTime

With how many we have Down Back he could go Forward. Remember Reading he had Kicked 7 for his School

It really is unlike you Dave to take away something from a post that was neither said or inferred
I was told:
Grundy was playing Forward and McLarty was on him.
Grundy moved up the ground to try a shake McLarty but he stayed with Grundy and out marked him

BTW Dave just in case.....I think Pendles will remain Captain

Well you did not say that in your 1st Post so I thought around the ground was that Grundy was Playing in the Ruck.

You’d hope so on two fronts:

1. McLarty couldn’t hope to match Grundy through the ruck around the ground.

2. Grundy’s forward craft is horrible so taking him to the cleaners in any role forward of centre should be par for the course for any KPD.

I like the thought process with Murphy. It certainly makes more sense than the projections of him starting in defense.

Yep, I got that.
That's why I added the Pendles bit

Now it makes Sense.

As I said Grundy has not done a ton of Work up Forward at Collingwood so he probably got bit way to go to. To be a Descent Forward

Has more Chance of Getting a game Forward then Down Back in 2018

Would assume ‘around the ground’ means what it says, and not in the ruck. Logical conclusion is that McLarty was playing on Grundy while he was playing forward, as is the supposed plan this year to have him and Cox rotating more.

Happy with Grundy learning to become a forward. It might not lead to anything permanent but if hes not a liability when not in the ruck he'll improve the side. Rucks need to kick goals. One only needs to look at Jolly's 24 goals in 2010 (interesting trivia.... thats more than Leigh Brown who kicked 21!!!!) to see how valuable a goal kicking first ruckman can be.

Plus Grundy forward and not being a liability there will allow the Grundy/Cox combination to be more effective.

Grundy should Potential up Forward as a Underager and we done lack of Work of that at Collingwood
