For those lucky enough to have been down to training recently, how have Broomy & Wells looked ?

Any training updates from today?
It was a strange old day weather wise.
After a loss like the other night, you could be forgiven for wondering what they'd serve up on the track.
Were they browbeaten by the coaches or encouraged to learn and move.
The gathering crowd waited with anticipation to see who was training and what their skills/attitude were like.
At this point it's probably best if I say "I didn't go and can't wait for Jen2310 or Apples to file their report(s)":)

I got there when the boys were starting to come out on the ground, it was about 9:40am. With a 10am start, I imagine. There wasn't much of a crowd, justa few people as I imagine not everyone knew we would be training today. It is also the only training session they have this week, given we're playing on thursday.

They started warming up, then Kevin White called them together and suddenly there was a big cheer. This turns out to be because Dunn is playing in a VFL practice match this weekend. His first physical game since his injury, so of course it was a big occasion.
They then got into the program.

Taylor Adams was doing work with the main group, just not participating in the game style sim they initiated. But other than that, he was pretty active in everything. I imagine once he is allowed to play, he will be fit and ready to go.
Will Kelly, WHE, Nathan Murphy doing a running program on the side. While everyone else was participating in other football training. Even Shaz was doing some stuff with the football during the match stuff.

I imagine they were working on intercept to fix that up before thursday. They also practice their goal kicking accuracy, as we know that was needed from last week's game.

Training lasted a bit over an hour. Once most have gone inside, a few stayed out for a little longer to work on some things, including Cox, Wells, Broomy and Grundy.

Kicking for goal should be an absolute constant.

Like putting practice for pro golfers.

Cox didn’t happen to work on his hands did he? He’d want to improve on last weeks performance overhead and they’ll be engaging him early on Thursday night to prevent the mistakes of the PF.

Yep, Richmond will of watched that replay a lot and their defenders will of been roasted about how they handled Cox, I'm expecting them to put a lot of attention into him.. He could get a lot of frees.

maybe they should put Cox at FF in the goal square. That way he can run at the ball and only have one opponent to focus on beating.

It’s definitely an option although I’d prefer to stick with what we did Friday night and put it on Cox to improve his hands. I think we were able to isolate him in enough one v ones he just dropped too many. It’s an ongoing issue for him unfortunately...

FWIW I think the forward group worked well Friday night and there issue was lack of supply. It was the mids that burned most of the opportunities and cost us the win.

Of that forward group De Goey stuffed up two chances. One snap early and that awful handball late. His touch and finishing was off. Its a measure of how good he is that he still kicked the goals he did and was so dangerous because he could have torn the game apart. Its to be expected given his preseason, and i'm not meaning to lay blame, just an observation. Thomas was the other well held in that forward group.

Did you see the insta post where Phillips nailing the goals from a difficult angle in the pre-game warm up on Friday? Then he and many others go to miss set shots right in front of goal in the game proper. It is all a mental thing I suppose, you need to relax and trust your skills.

FWIW I thought Thomas played more midfield than forward against Geelong
