You being the anti-theist will need to start the thread.A conversation. Asking for clarification and reasoning for Christian belief is legitimate in 'Ask a Christian". This isnt a thread for proselytizing.
Start one up. Ask away.
You being the anti-theist will need to start the thread.
True. It's not me that would "love there to be an ask an atheist thread as there are lots of questions I'd be interested to ask the atheists on here"
I am, because I don't recollect anyone in my youth going that far. No person who taught me religious education at any point told me that either that it is only through God that one can love their family (the positive slant) or that those that do not believe in the christian god are incapable of love (the inverse). There's plenty of stuff stating that only through god can we know love, but the inverse was not something I'd considered. I was shocked when boston tiger said it, and I'm still shocked. You are like a dog at a bone. It is too difficult for me to consider.
With respect, you hardly treat the scripture with the respect it warrants from a true believer. You choose which parts to follow and which to ignore.Having hung around this thread long enough this year, it's obvious what the genuine questions are.
You do not want the words of the true faith- your reaction to actual scripture is derogatory.

Well said.I actually agree with you. Look at both sides of the argument and than make a decision.
There is some circumstantial evidence for Christianity. Nothing concrete. Nobody is doubting that you've had an experience of sorts. That is more profound than many here will accept.
Christians aren't capable of real love. Their loyalty towards an imaginary sky pixie ensures they'll always be more loyal to delusion than people. You are like a dog at a bone. It is too difficult for me to consider.
Christianity is not a cult, and conspiracy theories abound in this thread.
Roylion is like the Game of Thrones fan who knows the histories of even the minor houses.
I salute it.
Just show me the evidence. That's why Vdubs dislikes him. The number of times he asked questions to vdubs only to be answered 1. I have faith that this is right 2. it survived 2,000 years 3. Jesus is so popular. Its always one of these 3 arguments. There's been no replies outside of these 3 points, adding no substance to the discussion, as usual.
Just show me the evidence.
Like the tooth fairy. You don’t need evidence to prove it. You need evidence to disprove it.
That’s how this works. For some reason... [emoji848][emoji849]

Go ask Boston Tiger. It was his post. Ask him the context of his statement. I am not the spokesperson for other believers- hard enough getting my own posts across without derision, let alone someone else's.I am, because I don't recollect anyone in my youth going that far. I keep asking, because I want to know the answer. Why is it too difficult to cosider?

If you answered a question once put, then I'd go away.
I have. He hasn't responded in this thread since.Go ask Boston Tiger. It was his post. Ask him the context of his statement. I am not the spokesperson for other believers- hard enough getting my own posts across without derision, let alone someone else's.
I am shocked, because I honestly thought you were better than that. Why so shocked? You don't believe anyway. Sounds like another of your overreactions.
you said you were shocked at his post, now you're shocked because I'm not playing your game. Harden up.I have. He hasn't responded in this thread since.
I am shocked, because I honestly thought you were better than that.
It's for you to decide. Answer my question or realize that the silence is damning enough.
There is a delicious irony to you telling me to harden up or accusing me of overreacting to things in this thread, Vdubs.you said you were shocked at his post, now you're shocked because I'm not playing your game. Harden up.

No, Roy is the cure.Roylion is like the Game of Thrones fan who knows the histories of even the minor houses.

John 14:6.With all due respect to Vdubs, he never answers any questions.
Boston Tiger is a fundamentalist Catholic, and the spokesperson for Catholics recently said even Non-Christians can go to heaven and you don't need to be Christian to go to heaven. Vdubs claims John 14:6 says christianity is the only way to heaven is in dispute from the biggest Christian leader who claimed you don't need to be Christian to go to heaven. So is he wrong Vdubs??
The vast majority of Christians don't want to know the truth. You only need watch the methods they use to defend their cult from legitimate attack to see it.You have accused him of using wikipedia and accused us of being conspiracy theorists, when he is the most knowledgable in history amongst all posters here, he has quoted reputed NT scholars (several ones) and yet you say he has quoted wikipedia. A bit rich coming from someone who takes the gospel as the 'truth'.

Labeling renowned historians as conspiracy theorists is utter horseshit. The same poster who made that claim refuses to recognise that he's religious or a cult member. It's the epitome of self-delusion.
