For some quirky reason, I have little interest in discussing Christianity with a non Christian who claims to know more about our faith and Bible than long term living and practicing Christians do.

Cause we are not discussing 'faith'. I said a million times, what you believe is your business, however your defence (or lack of), shows your faith is based on extremely shaky grounds and sometimes pure ignorance of actual history and even theology. The great commission and your interpretation of 14:6 shows this. I asked you to stop ignoring your own history, the Nicean council was form to prove Jesus was divine and crush any movement which disagreed with them. A major portion of early Christians thought Jesus was not divine. You can have your faith, but thats your actual history.

My grandmother on my mother's side was dirt poor, living in one of the worst parts of Melbourne. The man told her to keep the child, the community would assist. There have been times in which I had to choose between buying petrol and eating 2 meals a day for a week. There have been times in which I've not been able to afford the electricity to heat the water in the flat I lived in.

Where was your god or your christian charity then, Vdubs? Was it in the hoops I had to jump through in order to get rent assist? Was it in the Work for the Dole program I was placed in (in a baptist church ran op shop for wealthy people) despite being a full time student at the time and not being required to by legislation? Was it in the fact that I made more money for those simple women (who failed to recognise an author's signature on an original print of My Brilliant Career) on my first day than they made on most of their products; that is, except for the jewelry that got left to them. That went back into the parish coffers.

Children dying of malnutrition, yet parents have the faith that Christ will magically get them food on the plate. I have seen the worst of abortion clinics there where women were denied the right to abort after being r*ped. I have seen how people resort to faith healers than going to the hospital, how people resort to 'magic water' from the local priest to cure yellow fever than taking medicine which they can't afford anyway etc etc. Remove western culture and you will see the bare bones 'faith' brings in the lives of the less fortunate ones. It's a savage world out there , the ones like Vdubs who think Jesus is listening to him while granting him personal favours are self absorbed and full of shit in general.

1. I respect the honesty, and can not reply as to where the church was at your times of need.
What transpired to get you out of that situation, presuming you have?
I understand your poverty and have a similar story in some ways. Suffice it to say that I had to defer from Uni for 12m (second year of a 7 year course)to be able to work full-time to be able to pay my way in future years. A combination of parental tough love- could not come home to stay with them as I had left home to go to Uni, and was now a bum for having deferred- unheard of back then, and living alone in a big city at age 19, taught me to stand on my own 2 feet. I was so far removed from God in those years, it was not relevant to me.

I speak from experience, outside of western countries, the condition in christian countries is grave and they are far far more religious than the west will ever be. The Christian run charities run those orphanages, they are extremely well funded. They have target conversions and gets paid on per head conversions. Most of the money come from the US. Most of the conversions happen this way, 'i will give you food to eat' just convert. Families are left without a choice as they would rather have warm food on the table than starve. Often orphans from the streets are targeted, in guise of giving them education, just convert them and tell them Jesus sent us. You are mistaken, any conditional help is called business, helping under the pretense of selling your literature. You have way to go in understand how these vultures work. The biggest benefeciers are those who run charities/orphanages. The biggest donations go to schools/centers which converted the most. It's like a sales factory and the children are commodities.

That was a modus operandii for Mother Teresa. That's how missionaries run, they target often vulnerable families, the more they get under their sleeve the more funding they get. How i know this? i have a factory right next to one in Kerala.

Mental illness comes from Maslow's hierarchy. You mentioned how these guys in India are happy with simple things. It's not restricted to Christian orphanage. I buy some kids a warm meal some days and i am like god to them cause warm meals come at a premium there, while if i want to buy you a warm meal, you will start to think what i want in return. That's different mentality for you, got nothing to do with religion when you have most things in life you stop valuing the little things. This is why always appreciate the smallest things in life, a hug from a friend, a hug from my wife, my parents, my brother, a smile from a stranger on the street or any act of unconditional kindness, i value them all above anything money can buy. You can only be happy when you associate happiness with things which are not material/impermanent. It doesn't include money, sports cars, fashion brands etc.

In the end i will say, if your god was real, he will serve those who are in need instead of you, you have the time to be mentally ill, those in india, don't have that time, cause they are busy trying to feed their families. Jesus, served the poor, urged people to sell your possessions for the poor, help the blind and the destitute but he has gone missing there. There is no Jesus in Africa, there is no Jesus in the Pacific Islands, there is no Jesus in S.America. You are barking up the wrong tree, God shows up to george bush, donald trump, Vdubs, but never shows up to those battling for survival. I know plenty of family, me being aborignal and my father being devout Christian who have suffered all thiis life. Call me funny, but the vast improvement in my life came when/after i actually lost my faith, i am now quite wealthy, own 2 business' , healthy and happy with a great family...all this without 'faith'. If i had 'faith' you will attribute this to god. Confirmation bias is a killer. I urge you to look at things objectively rather than through born again christianity blinkers.

I will help people suffering regardless of race/religion/color, while Vdubs and his merry men will help people conditionally to further their vested interests (what they believe is the word of god). This is absolutely shameful to target the vulnerable to further your personal agenda and get more funding overseas.

Islamic charities are none different, i guess it's a characterizes of sons of Abraham. Abrahamic religions have brought nothing but destruction on earth.
