I have said it before but some of our players just don't cut it at AFL ,whilst they are in the team , we aint going to progress. Sure they are great battlers but just don't have any real influence in the game. I am talking about Deboer and Suban. They haven't improved and I am starting to wonder about Clarke, seems more an athlete then natural footballer, Griffin is a far better proposition. I think our team will really improve and once again be a force once a number of players make their way into the team. I am talking about Griffin,Silvia,Bradley,Ibbotson, Morabito and eventually Simpson ( I am hoping he gets it together ) . Players that should have a spell in the WAFL are Deboer,Suban,Spurr ( seems to have dropped off a lot ),Mayne (???? whats happened to him ),Suttcliffe ( not sold on him, not enough physicality ).
Bradley would bolster our forward line( watching him at training, he is really clicking & looking very sharp, he has kicked goals for us before & I have always liked him ) , Ibbotson plays tall and great intercept mark ( replaces spurr ), Morabito just adds more class and muscle to our midfield. Silvia would be a far better proposition then Mayne. Simpson would be our X factor, the magic that is missing ( ie rioli hawthorn ). I am very optomistic looking down the track. Off course I am not sure what Lyons sees ( I sometimes wonder if he plays favourites )

Zac Clarke is my buddy and so I am meant to defend him, but two weeks in a row now he has been poor at crucial moments with the ball below his knees, doesn't put his head over it and fumbles simple balls.

Redgum, Ross Lyon said during the week Mora wanted to play in the midfield. He did two weeks in a row for Peel and struggled. He's been out of football for 3 years but I reckon he would be a much better sub than what they've provided lately. I thought Spurr was ok tonight.

Not having a go but what is your point? You have basically just stated what everyone in every other game or player related thread are saying. Did you mean to ask are we at a crossroads? If so the answer is no. Injuries and suspensions have played a huge part in the crap we are dishing up at the moment. Once we get Ballas and Barlow (at the least) back then we should be right.

I said once they make their way into the team, obviously Mora isn't anywhere near ready just yet. I think some players just haven't really improved, Spurr is a little bit too short, Ibbotson is a better proposition. Off course I haven't mentioned Ballas and Barlow, just players I think haven't really improved, some have gone backwards. The players I have mentioned, in my opinion are better propositions. Once Silvia hits his straps, he will be a far better weapon then either Deboer or Mayne.

Spurr too short?

I thought he was very good again - kept Thomas to 10 possessions and a goal that took something special to scrap in, makes his opponent work very hard for their possessions and gives drive the other way.

Guys like Mzungu and Suban are the real issue, both need to lift their socks.

The issue was the work rate across half forward - not enough spot up kicks, too many long, dirty entry on the head of Pavlich and co.

Roos game is all about the rebound from half back, played into their hands with high ball in.

Peoples disliking for de Boer & Suban is starting to become disgusting now. Going in the direction of the egirls and Swift at this rate.

Dislike????

I don't dislike anyone on out team but on this thread it is just an acknowledgement that several players are well below their best at the moment and if we have strong enough reserves we should look at them or face dropping out of connection with the top four.

DeBoer, Suban, Crozier especially would be in danger of losing their spots. I hope that we have good performances from Griffen, Ibbo and Morabito to keep pressure on players to hold their spots. I also look forward to Ballas and hopefully Sylvia coming in to our team to add some X factor that is sadly missing.

What a thoroughly disappointing effort from the majority of our players tonight. Hope is not lost but it took a blow tonight.

As funny as it sounds Kepler will be a big inclusion for us once he hits fitness/form for Peel. He is basically what we are missing right now and what Gumby would have been if he was fit.

I dont think so, we still wudve lost with him. No barlow and our two small forwards is whats hurting.

He or Tabs would've helped and made us a little bit less unpredictable. Drawn defenders away from Pav. Kepler often kicks 1 or 2 a game because no one rates him

Ross Lyon needs to start blooding new players to find out who can take us forward. When he first came to the club I remember him saying "we need to rebuild the midfield". Well the only additions I see as "adding" to our midfield under his reign are D. Pearce and Lachy Neale. Josh Simpson is the biggest disappointment so far given he was pick 17 in last years draft. Fingers crossed he turns things around. Also Taberner and Tanner Smith are not going to be super stars and Moller is that far off playing AFL football it's not funny. He's not even close to dominating a wafl game.

He needs to throw the likes of Apeness and Ballard into the mix. These boys have big bodies, something we are lacking in today's football environment. Sylvia and Morabito will obviously help in that area. Crozier might benefit from having a few more big bodies around to feed off.

Mass overreaction, these are the same players that got us to the GF so to me it is a mental issue. A lot of guys seem to be down on form and shadows of their former selves.

Maybe, Deboer, Suban, Sutcliffe, Spurr, Mzungu, Clarke have all been well below their best.

Let's not forget we have Sonson missing from a weak forward line at best - arguably our most important player.

Attitudinally we have issues which we haven't really had in the past 2 years. That rests on the individual - RTB has done the disciplining now it's the players turn to either come along for the ride or drop their bundle.

I don't think blooding every rookie we have for the sake of it does anything. But yes let's hope Apeness comes in and provides us a target.

Also people expecting much from Mora need to calm down, these guys aren't video game characters who come back from injuries and are as good as new, this is a guy who has had 3 recos, missed 3 years and will do well to be a sub after the bye.

Ross Lyon blooded all these young midfielders in his first year from very early on in the season from memory. He needs to apply the same approach IMO. It stands out like dogs balls the likes of Sheridan and Suttcliffe lack leg speed and are lightly framed and hence get rag dolled every week.

I hope any comedian that comes on here from Norf either before the game and especially after are getting a week off because that's what would happen on their board.

No. The mods here are more concerned with their own supporters toeing the line.

Trolls here have an open pass.

Replacing A and B class players with foot soldiers is the problem at the moment.
Replacing out of form foot soldiers with more foot soldiers wont solve the problem. Clancee,Spurr,Suban,De Boer,Sherridan,Crosier are either out of form or inexperienced but who do you bring in to replace them.Apart from Mora,Griff Kep who are not ready and Sylvia who is unavailable the cupboard is pretty bare apart from a heap of kids who arent ready
We just have to wait for Barlow,Balla,Ibbo to get themselves right ,Mayne to grab some form and the four mentioned to grab some form and the worm should turn.

Most of the young kids that have got games for us under Ross has been out of necessity, generally our injury list has been long. Only Sutcliffe has been close to cementing his spot and maybe Neale - the rest only come in when injury hits.
