I think internally the club would be happy enough with Bolton & no doubt he’s still finding his feet & role within this structure & game style. Potentially he’s playing sore, but that’s obviously no excuse once he runs on the ground.

But he seems invested & was impressed when he hit up Amiss instead of blazing away after receiving a very ordinary handball from Brayshaw. Earlier in the season he’s having that shot.

Could maybe dial back some of the aggression like 25% but the guy 100% wants to be here, wants to win and filled a big whole in the side.

Great trade that the club got done at quite a reasonable price.

Genuine question. I even looked this one up in the rules but couldn't find it.
Jackson's play on was explained that even though he had one foot still on the mark the step he took was forward of the mark so play on was the call. If he had done the same sideways he would have been fine.
Is that right?
Yes, as long as he didn't go foward of the mark.
HIs back foot was stationary behind the mark. His front foot went past the mark.

Who thinks this circle jerk over the Magpies "tackling" at the end is being completely overblown? I'm not sure what Sidebottom did to Serong even constitutes a tackle (if he was hoping for holding the ball). And if they wanted the ball out in space, it didn't work and all it did was allow us to waste extra time.

I also saw a few Pies players put hands on the ball and cause a stalemate, wasted time, and ball up. Including what might otherwise have been a holding the ball against NOD when he kinda dived on it, but then Lipinksi came in and jumped on the ball as well. Then Cameron did the same thing with a stalemate versus Young. And looking closely again, there could have been a free against Pendlebury for holding Young's arm while the ball was thrown up. Pendles then throws the ball twice. Impressive effort for him to commit three infringements in about 10 seconds and get away with all of them.

But the Magpies are geniuses and the best ever at finishing games.
Your first point about the genius "tackle" and wave your arms was done by Alex Pearce in a game at Perth stadium. Twice. The Fox commentators thought it strange.
But it won Pearce free kicks.

Just watched a full replay in the cold hard light of day. (not screaming at the TV and jumping around like game day)
Observations:
  • Johnno is going good, getting better every game, just effed up once with that very poor attempted pass on the left side
  • Worner played a good game and should not have been subbed, no wonder he was peeved
  • Freddy played another one of his pathetic games, dropped marks, fumbled multiple times would not get jnvolved in the heat, blasted a long ball way wide at goals in the crucial minutes when Vossy was wide open. Should have been subbed and paid the price
  • Shai was well below his best, should have nailed right pocket close in banana, took a long set shot that was beyond him when he should of looked to pass it off, getting a bit full of himself
  • Sean was dissapointing in not at least halving maybe four critical marking contests against Cameron, needs to do better
  • Banners is going well down back (can't believe I said that), just one error when he took a fraction too long to pick a target resulting in out on the full due to McCleary chase
In the perfect world:
  • We replace Freddy with Kosi
  • We get a quality defender to replace Pearce (because he is always injured)
and we make the GF for sure.
The Shai part tells me alot about you.

'Nick Daicos clever enough to talk the umpire into the 50'

Absolutely pathetic from the weak willed umpire here. There's literally a line mowed in the grass where Daicos took the mark and the ump is standing perfectly side on. You couldn't possibly ask for an easier frame of reference.

Correct me if I’m wrong but Treacy is clearly pointing at the scoreboard, with both hands, so really it should have been 100m.🤪

This a grain of salt post.

Whatever that's meant to mean, opinions are like arseholes, everybody has one. Glad you counteracted my individual points.
Its a shame that Kozzie just signed a huge contract at Melbourne as he would be perfect for our team.

We want Shai to be full of himself. We need that.

Screaming out for difference makers for years then complain when everything doesn’t come off.

On Freddy: he was shitful, and looking at his shot in the last quarter he SHOULD have passed to Voss…he really should’ve.

BUT

I can’t sit here with a straight face and can him as we want players to take responsibility. In this instance, the error is the skill error imo.

But he still should’ve passed the ball 😂

Sorry I don't get the reference..

Anthony Van Der Wielen is Pickett’s manager.

Yes he got him lots of money, but he’s going to have 3-5 years of shit coming his way.

They need to rebuild. Gawn, Oliver, Viney and Petracca will be retiring or moving on. Or should be moved on.

They’ve made a decent start with Windsor, Langford and Lindsay, but he could’ve earned a million with us and be playing finals for the next 6-8 years.

It’s why I don’t discount us on someone like NWM.

Our list profile is set to be a contender for that long.

Only real immediate losses are Pearce, O’Meara and Fyfe and only Pearce is a key plank.

Ryan still has two years before his age becomes an issue, Switta a few more.

Brayshaw is 26 in November…hopefully he’s got 4 more years at his peak. Darcy is similar age.

Every other key plank is younger than Andy Brayshaw

Hopefully it's a front loaded contract and Kozzie does a Brad Hill and leaves a soon as the contact drops off.

I agree, I think Freddie was within his rights to take the shot, he's 40 out almost directly in front, and he's made a skill error. Fully accept that and hope he continued to back himself.

It was hot in the kitchen and Freddie had more time than he realised and should make that kick every day of the week, it's his strength but was a bit panicked as I would have been!

He wasn't on his own there either. I think Serong had a ping and missed, Young had a shot and missed as well as a forward half turnover that he then kicked straight to the only Pies players in the fifty.

I'm sure if they could have those moments again Frederick puts it in space in front of Voss for a simple chest mark and set shot, Serong steadies for two more steps and scores, Young does the same with his shot and then hits a target nearly right in front with a minute to go for a mark and set shot putting us up to 7 points up with 30 seconds left.

Footy is just moments. Our moments worked out. Those little touches that had the Pies clearances spill, that tackle from O'Meara where he brought the ball to ground by himself and got the repeat stoppage.

Just moments that went right.

He was having a quiet game & sometimes you just want to impact. It wasn’t an outrageous shot to take & the coaches would back him in to take it.
