The 2nd generation from those migrant groups often seem like the worst ladder pullers in my experience and balk at the sight of seeing others get the same opportunity their parents did half a century ago.

Couple of points to make here.
Firstly, the Liberals are a pro immigration party in real political terms, even if the Nationals aren't.
Secondly, Labor get additional support from the Greens (although there is no coalition obviously and points of difference between the parties). The Greens are even more pro-immigration than Labor and the Liberals.
Thirdly, the independents who tend to get large votes are more likely to share the mainstream consensus about multiculturalism and immigration. A lot of cookers run as independents but those candidates barely trouble the scorers, you might say.

Genuine anti-immigrant and anti-brown sentiment is a real minority in this country, only really represented by One Nation and a couple of fraction-percent parties in the Senate. And a bit by the Nationals, but they always play second fiddle to the Liberals on this policy area when in government.

The people cheering neo-Nazi Thomas Sewell at the protest today may be upset and angry that Australia belongs to everyone, whatever language you speak, whatever your skin colour, whatever your religious and cultural traditions. But this isn't the start of a mass movement or a change in the public policy direction, just a perpetually angry minority making some noise and in the case of Neo Nazis, scouting for recruits. And it's good we know that they're there, but we should be ignoring them in policy terms.

How Sewell hasn't been deported back to his birth country is beyond me. Telling us it's for his kids, would've been better if he stayed in uni and got a degree rather than trying to pontificate to the rest of us when he isn't even Australian in the first place.

All the media (even the quite protest friendly nine news) showed clips of Nazis doing their Nazi talkiing points (the diggers bled for this white Australia sort of gear) and it was openly cheered.

Again, if your march/protest/rally/event is closely aligned enough for Nazis to show up and walk alongside you and get up and speak with standard Nazi rhetoric and not get booted out or booed off stage then guys, thats a ****ing Nazi march.

Yep, it's evolution, as you've pointed out after wwII it was the europeans, then in the 70s it was the asians, now it's the muslims.

People who oppose this evolution have an unwarranted fear of change (or are just racist supremacist aholes or somewhere in between), they think that this multiculturalism is a deliberate virtue signal and our 'way of life' will change.

Our 'way of life' hasn't changed, we still have the same liberal freedoms that we had 100 or 200 years ago, probably even more so. We've just added other wonderful cultural things that's been offered (and by and large received by us) from other cultures.
