What's Bancroft's excuse for failing in those matches against NZA in August if it was so easy then? Enlighten me.Lets not beat around the bush.. those A games and PMXI games shouldn't have been FC games which is pretty much what he was picked on.
Pitches were roads and the opponents were going at 30%.
Anyone got the fine print on this?
Did Cummins really tell them that? Savage! They're not forgotten, they just aren't good enough for Test cricket.

Sounds like Justin Langer's "Elite Honesty"...Did Cummins really tell them that? Savage!
Nope, he was the highest run scorer in the shield in 2017/18 shield season, thanks mostly to a huge 2nd half of the season where he made 3 100's and 2 50's in 6 matches after the BBL period. Prior to the Pakistan series in the UAE when Finch and Usman opened Renshaw made 6 100's and 4 50's in 12 matches for Qld and Somerset. Unfortunately copped a concussion in the warm up match and Finch did enough in the 1st test to hold his spot and Renshaw was sent home before the 2nd test.I think Renshaw was averaging like 20 with a Top Score of 36 in Shield in the lead up to that 12 month ban period, he got dropped from QLD there at one point.

Well we don't know how toxic the environment actually was at the time in the rooms.
A lot of s**t was going in South Africa at the time and the side weren't used to vitriol/personal abuse coming there way from the crowd. They were clearly rattled and in a dark place with an us against the world mentality.
Maybe a stronger minded player would have said no i am not doing this surely there is another way to mess the ball up without taking f... sandpaper out there.
Gets the reply it deservesNice bump mate. Some quality contributions as per
Cam Green after 36 innings:Green going to 4 now is not ideal, because he doesn't deserve the spot. However he is clearly better than the three opening candidates and all of this was triggered by Smith wanting to open. If Smith wants to open, he opens - and so everything else has to fall into line with that.
No, when there were eventually signs if this scheme had continued genius.Hate to burst your bubble (actually that's not true). The umpires report said they saw no sign of tampering with the ball. So the umpires are in on this grand conspiracy as well?

It's easy to plead ignorance given it was identified straight a away
Feel to me like Capetown still hangs over this team like the sword of Damocles.
They won't come out and say it but Cam Bancroft has no chance of making the side while Cummins is captain which effectively spells the end of his international career.
Cummins effectively assed Langer after a series sweep in the Ashes and then got the teams major sponsor dumped because of his own personal views.
The idea he wouldn't do the same to Bancroft is utterly laughable.
The same Langer that lost not 1 but TWO home series against India…he was an okay limited over coach that’s about it. Drew to England in England against one of the worst English sides yeah we can blame Paine and his DRS fiasco but it should never have even been that close
What I don't like about CA is that the preferred people have clearly been briefed with the talking points etc.Article by Malcolm Conn in yesterday’s SMH - www.smh.com.au/sport/cricket/the-real-reason-bancroft-was-snubbed-is-he-s-just-not-good-enough-20240111-p5ewfu.html
The stuff about Bancroft’s teammates talking about his deficiencies is interesting.
