Darcy Short signs with the strikers

Really fits the team well. Wonder if he'll open
Hasn’t been quite the same player recently compared to a few seasons ago where he was dominant for the Canes, wonder if he will find his best form with a change of environment.

Huge for the Gades.

Spin friendly home deck and probably the two best spinners in the country in Lyon and Zampa. Would they be available for the finals?

If they can sign 2 good imports that are batsman or at very least batting all rounders they will be strong.

Lyon to the Renegades. Hope they have a couple of good backups as their top 2 spinners will be unavailable for large parts of the season
They won't be unavailable at the same time though. When Lyon is unavailable with the Test team Zampa will be available. When Zampa is unavailable with the white ball side, Lyon will be available.

Yep pretty smart play to pair them up like that.

Something that is often lacking with BBL signings is the consideration of availability.

Nicholas Pooran has nominated for the draft. Given his form this year (if it stays this good till the summer) that'd be a good get for this year's competition.

Hopefully he'll be here for the duration of the tournament

Doubt he'll be there for the full tournament. He's property of the Mumbai Indians extended squad so will play in either SA20 or ILT20 during January.

"His availability is expected to be for the back half of the season, and with the Windies playing ODIs and T20s against Australia from February 2, the prospect of a few weeks' work in the BBL before national duty could prove appealing to a number of players from the Caribbean.

Those players will likely not be available for the start of the season however, with the West Indies scheduled to host England for white-ball series in December, with three ODIs from December 3 before a five-game T20 series that runs until December 21."

If so the Stars should definitely take him at no1.
