Yeah I saw that. But from what I heard a while back, it's not happening. Travis still wont fly, and if they were to do a festival they'd need to be driving across the country. Not that they can't do that, but I was just told Blink aren't playing.

Time will tell I guess. :D

This makes me very, very happy :D

A quick update ... Kings Of Leon have already played BDO, and the sky didn't fall.

Yes, their audience demographic has changed since that great set out in the cow pavilion, but the band are no more or less good/shit than seven years ago.

it sure has.

I saw them a few years ago myself and loved em.

However the change of the songs and demographic since cutting their hair and corporate rock whoring suggests that they are now shite and shall ruin the BDO.

Names?
Soundgarden/Kings of Leon as has been reported for ages now or is it somebody else
About 90% sure Tool is the headline act. I'm pretty sure it won't be A Perfect Circle as some have guessed.

Not sure who the second headliner is. I'd like Soundgarden, but I've also heard they won't be playing, and Kings Of Leon have pretty much ruled themselves out.

There was that Tool, Rammstein & Iggy and the Stooges rumour thrown about, allegedy from a manager of a prominent Aussie band who's playing all shows. I have my doubts about Rammstein (though I'd love to see them again), but Tool and Iggy seem like reasonable guesses.

We'll know in about 6 days time anyway...

I'd hope so. I will admit the main reason I doubt it is because a Tool/Rammstein headlined BDO falls in the "too good to be true" category.

Also, I'm not so sure they'd book two "heavy" headline acts these days.

  ;)

So, if what I've heard is true..

Blink are not playing.

I like one of the headliners, the other I believe a few around here like, personally don't like their stuff. :p
Spill it.

More clues have been released

http://www.thevine.com.au/music/fes...-announce-clues,-fan-speculation20100924.aspx

- One of the Big Day Out 2011 headline acts live in Los Angeles, California, USA. The other headliner doesn’t. Both are bands, neither are solo performers.
- One of the 2011 acts will perform their classic album. PS they have played BDO before.
- The 2011 act that will perform their classic album and have played BDO before IS NOT THE STOOGES!
- The two headlining bands have NEVER broken up!!!

The site speculates RHCP, Weezer and Tool. All but Weezer have played before and you could mount a case for each having a 'classic album'.

Anyone think Korn are a chance? They're from California and have played before. Don't think they've ever broken up either.

Obviously they wouldn't be as good as say, RHCP or Tool but it could be worse.

also, one of the clues was, one of the headliners has played bdo, one hasn't

that means Rammstein and Tool can't be both headliners, which really rules out both of them playing, I mean, they're pretty much headliners.

Reread the hints:

It doesn't mention anything about one of the headliners having never played the BDO before, so both Tool and Rammstein are definitely a possibility.

If you know who's paying, why play the games, just spill it.
