Has superstar written all over him.

He has a low flat kick which is great but the only thing he needs to work on is staying calm and picking the right option to cut out those turnovers from his game. That will come with time, much higher ceiling than Broomhead imo

He reminds me so much of Shannon Grant (ex-North player) for some reason.
Just the way he moves and kicks the ball I think.
Would be rapt if he had a similar career :)
He does a bit. Grant used to run around with his toungue sticking out as well:p

I think they are both super talented. Seen plenty to like about Broomhead and Ben Kennedy. Haven't got a fix on either of their ceilings yet.

He was fantastic last night 16 touches in a half and his disposal was good, loved the effort for the sidebottom goal at the end.

Someone just told him Martin just had another 30+ disposal, couple goals plus multiple tackle game and said he must be close to getting a gig in the seniors.
Wouldn't stress Blair at all. He knows that Martin can kick a thousand goals, be BOG every week, pick up countless possessions etc etc. Doesn't change anything. Blair knows he is a lock in the side. As long as he lays a few ineffective tackles Bucks will keep him in.

Looked good has the subbed because i thought the players around him were more tired than usual.
Not convinced he will come and and hold his spot. This frame is still 2-3 years off it.
Happy for him to get a full game next week but still see him as yoyo player I'll almostguarantee he'll be called to be out of the senior team in 2-3 weeks.

You weren't hugged much as a kid were you?

I think the difference this time was he was played in the guts and he showed he is better when around the ball.

If we get Maxwell or Langdon back I'd be tempted to play Adams and Kennedy on ball and move Ball to a forward flank with Blair out or sub. Ball provides the same tackling pressure as Blair but seems to find space inside 50 really well and is a great set shot inside 45.

Kennedy (Pick 19 - 2012 AFL Draft): 16 possessions in under a half of football

Menzell (Pick 12 - 2012 AFL Draft): 5 possessions in a full game
That my friend is a blatant use of statistics to distort an argument.
You have selectively used a sample of just one game to try to make your point
You know what I think about this type of selective manipulation
I give it the big :thumbsu:
Keep up the good work

Absolutely ripping game as sub.

The obvious question is whether he can do it over a full game when everyone is fresh.

I really back him in to do it because he has been racking up 30 possessions plus at VFL level, so it shows his fitness is good. He was one of our best performed over the pre-season as his form warranted senior selection.

On a wet and cold night, Ben handled the ball well, he took a nice mark, he hit targets on all but 1 occassion and he made the game saving spoil.

Should be a starter next week.

However, he has proven in his short career to be a very effective substitute, so I wouldn't be surprised to see him in this role again.

He is a midfielder more than a forward. It was good to see Bucks play him through the middle in the last quarter, and at times he even stood Judd.

However, going forward he probably has to cement himself as a forward flanker/midfielder.

I have been a big wrap for him from last year, even if others have not been.

I think he'll develop into a Brent Harvey type. The beauty though is that he goes in really hard for the footy and tackles well too. He could become a very complete player.

Can you have a break out game as a sub? That was pretty close. I think the extended stint in the VFL has done him good.

He was very clean tonight, used it well, won his own ball and his pace really stood him out from the rest of our side. He has a real competitive drive that will hold him in good stead.

We will really need to have that sort of pace in the team next week for Gold Coast so he should get a full game.

The sooner we can get Kennedy & Broomhead to AFL level the better, I think develoment wise we just need to pump games into them, even if it is at the expense some veterans.

Biggest plus for me is he appears to have very good awareness in traffic, managed to find gaps with a little sidestep and puts the foot down. His first 10-15 steps appeared blistering albeit with tired players around him he still looked very quick.

Cannot play Adams, Blair, Dwyer, Martin and Kennedy all in the one team. Far too small.

If Martin every gets upgraded and selected will be some interesting selection dilemmas. Will Blair finally fall out of favour?

Personally i think its time Blair was given a spell, offered too little for too long now.

Super impressed with Ben's game last night. Looked way more composed with the ball than he has in the past, and gee he's quick.

If Elliott wasn't looking at a few weeks on the sidelines Blair would be very nervous about holding his spot.

Yeah I absolutely agree.

Personally I think we are too heavy on the similar type of mid at the moment. Thomas and Dwyer are very nice players, but not sure if you play them as well as Adams and Kennedy. This is on top of Beams, Pendlebury, Swan, Ball and Sidebottom.

That's just too many inside type mids with not a lot of outside run. Guys like Young and Lumumba are different because they play outside.

I think once we get the likes of Maxwell, Williams, Fasolo and Reid back, then Dwyer and Thomas might be the ones to make way.

I really hope though we find a way to keep Adams and Kennedy in there.

You could notice his pace, took full advantage of his fresh legs. If he gets dropped over Blair, ill be disapointed.

Very good game from Kennedy. Still doesn't work hard enough defensively but I think that'll improve. The intercept and dish off to Sidey show he has the game awareness. Not sure how Blair even factors into this discussion, can't see either of them missing Saturday's game.
