BBL is a gimmick. This is probably the showcase game of the year - Opening match, one of only two cross-town game matches and the crowd is disappointing.

Having 8 teams just shallowed the comp.

Should have had 6 state teams plus invited teams from New Zealand. (North Island and South Island)

i don't think the cricket public will ever like having a choice of 2 teams to follow. last year showed that. melbourne v sydney would be huge if they were the only teams from both states
