Rocchiccioli bowled so well that session. It will be interesting to see his development this season.

Yeah he seems to do really well at using the bounce of the WACA pitch (something that Murphy did not do, he bowled way too flat for a pitch offering little turn). It will also be interesting to see how Rocchiccioli goes on other grounds, especially ones offering less bounce and more turn.

Always on the look out for good up and coming talent in every state that might be bound for higher duties.

Jack Edwards NSW has had a pretty handy game thus far against QLD.

Took 6 for 36 of 15 overs in the first QLD dig.
Then batted in the middle order for 87 off 117 balls.
Second innings for Qld Edwards bowling - 1 for 29 off 8 overs.

One to keep track of, he has been around a little while but hasn't quite got it right consistently, only 23 and has had a promising International career at U /16 and U / 18 for Australia.

I have a feeling that he is the real deal.

Remember the name, when tracking this season as it progresses..

Hey all,

Watching the crocket from the WACA for the first time this season. Does anyone have any info as to why the WACA surface looks so patchy? Normally the WACA surface is pristine.

East Fremantle are playing their home WAFL matches at the WACA for the next couple of years while East Fremantle Oval is being redeveloped. With WAFL and WAFLW matches, the ground got a fair bit of usage, it also hosted an 18's national carnival game as well.

Just had a look at the score

Riveting game as Victoria throws out the deep sea anchor to save the match

Last 10 overs, 8 runs

Merlo 0 of 36. The other guy 10 off 70

Would be like watching someone throw a ball at a wall

Hopefully the new ball does something to break up the block-a-thon. Must be dreadfully boring for the people who are in attendance.

Has he got a twin brother? If so, they were playing BBL together several years ago for NSW. What became of his bro?

Older brother 28 Michael ( Jack 23 ), Mickey still plays for NSW and Sixers, he is the tall dude 198 cm.

Jack much more an all rouder.

Not in my eyes.
Piled up a lot of runs in 2nd division county cricket.

A bowler whose handy with the bat IMO.

Averaged 36 in Shield last year. I think of the Starc/Cummins types as bowlers who are handy with the bat whereas Neser to me seems better than that level.

Probably unfortunate to have not played more international cricket but he picked a bad time to be an Australian fast bowler.

WA owns the Vics in Shield cricket these days.

Really impressive match considering this XI is not available due to international duty or injury (although I don’t know what injuries Cartwright, Paris, Richardson and Kelly have):

Marsh
Green
Cartwright
Inglis
Stoinis
Connolly
Agar
Paris
Richardson
Kelly
Morris

I know Harris is getting married or something and is unavailable, but the Vics had most of their full squad and are two wickets away from an innings defeat.

After being 0/108 at lunch on day 1

Afghanistan would be an elite limited overs team if they could produce batsmen

Bit hard when their pitches literally could be a minefield

They were missing Maddinson, Short and Chandrasinge too (not sure if he was omitted or unavailable). But definitely nothing like who we were missing
