Carroll loan and Sandro sold I reckon, Sandro has been great when fit but he's had 4 years at the club and hasn't pretty much played a full season since 2011-12 where he was largely a squad rotation player. Would prefer 1 of Kaboul or Dawson to be sold and Lennon to stay well away from that RW position as he gives us bugger all production year in year out.

Gotta sell Carroll he is 22 now think we should just cut our losses and realise he isn't a top half PL player just yet. Agree that the beast might have to go, I don't want him to great in the dressing room and puts in every game he plays. That 1/2 season him and Dembele had together was our best CM partnership in this recent rise. Whichever one of Kaboul or Dawson actually agrees to a move will be sold and the other to be slowly phased out til their contract is up. Lennon has looked sharp in pre-season playing on the left and in behind the striker (that was his original position at Leeds) wouldn't be against him being part of that rotating 3 behind the striker but he is no longer a certain starter.

We've signed Swansea Left-Back Ben Davies & their Goalkeeper Michel Vorm in exchange for Gylfi Sigurdsson.

We're currently trying to sign Southampton Midfielder, Morgan Schneiderlin & Villarreal Centre-Half, Mateo Musacchio, but their respective clubs are making things difficult.

Our Pre-Season Form has been very good; expect breakout seasons from Holtby, Capoue, Lamela & Soldado.

We are also trying to sign a wide-left player, but it isn't clear who that will be. Names like Jay Rodriguez (who did his ACL a few months ago), Loic Remy & Memphis Depay have all been mentioned. QPR are willing to let us have Remy in exchange for some sort of deal involving Townsend & maybe Kane.

Also in recent news, it looks like we're being linked to Roma's Striker, Mattia Destro again; according to football-italia, Walter Sabatini (Roma's director) is currently in London to negotiate the €25m transfer & will attend our game tomorrow. (Personally, I don't see the point in getting ourselves another forward unless we sell off one, which I don't think is necessary).

Sorry to be a pain but I've only just got foxtel back after a 3 year hiatus, so my knowledge about the squad is quite limited atm. So it's fair to say I'm looking forward to watching this season.

Secondly how many of those bought with the Bale money could or should be sold or loaned?

Thirdly my uni buddy who is a Man U fan, was befuddled as to why Vorm would come to us given his position on the periphery of the Dutch squad. His conclusion was that it must be as a safety net for if Lloris either leaves or a killer offer comes in for him, as why would he go to a club where he would be backup when the Euros are 2 years away?

Question 1:

That's my personal opinion. I'd expect most people would have Davies over Rose right now, but I think Rose with Holtby providing cover would work perfectly & I think Rose will improve a lot this season, contrary to a lot of peoples' expectations.

I know a lot of Spurs Fans rate Dembele, but I do not, and I don't think he's suited to the fast tempo, high pressing football Pochettino plays at all; he always plays at a slow tempo & his passing range isn't anywhere near good enough for the regista role he's been employed in for the last two years. Sandro is another option for that central role, but I currently prefer Capoue because he has more strings to his bow, whereas Sandro is very much a defensive midfielder (I wouldn't complain if Sandro started however). If we get Schneiderlin, he's a dead-set lock, but the Southampton Chairman & Manager have both re-iterated on numerous occasions that he's not going anywhere, and it's beginning to resemble the Modric situation back in 2011, where nothing happened.

There are also people who rate Adebayor ahead of Soldado which is fair enough considering he finished last season on fire, but I think Soldado will thrive in the Pochettino system, and he's always been a consistent pro in Spain where's Adebayor's been hot & cold his whole career, so I currently prefer Roberto. There's also the possibility we'll bring in a Wilfried Bony or a Mattia Destro; not so sure what to do in that situation.

Question 2:As for players being sold, it's recently become apparent that we're listening to offers for 11 players: Andros Townsend, Aaron Lennon, Roberto Soldado, Michael Dawson, Benoit Assou-Ekotto, Kyle Naughton, Vladimir Chiriches, Sandro, Etienne Capoue, Nacer Chadli and Mousa Dembele.

-Assou-Ekotto is an obvious departure.
-Andros Townsend is one of Redknapp's main targets at QPR, and Hoddle suggested they'd try to engineer a Remy/Andros swap deal.
-Harry Kane has been linked to QPR on loan.
-Michael Dawson is one we've been trying to get rid of, but he's refusing to leave & wants to fight for a spot.
-Kyle Naughton is one that should be off soon seeing as we've signed another right-back in DeAndre Yedlin.
-Nacer Chadli was very underwhelming last season, but by all reports Poch wants to keep him.
-Dembele should be sold unless we plan on trying him out wide. Useless in central midfield.
-Lennon should be sold; just isn't dangerous enough.
-Chiriches, Sandro, Capoue & Soldado should not be sold. Will be gutted if any of them do.

Question 3: Vorm may well be our insurance for if Lloris does leave, but it certainly won't be this window, fresh off re-signing with us for 5 years. He's almost certain to start all the cup games, whereas Lloris will play in the Premier League.

Forgot one last thing; we've also signed a Young American Right-Back, DeAndre Yedlin & a Young, English Centre-Half, Eric Dier. Both are depth purchases, but they look very very promising from what I've seen.

Winning Europa will get you in the UCL qualification rounds and we do have a ton of depth and I reckon MoPo intends to use it all.

GrandBlue Dembele will be crucial for EL imo, yes he has bugger all end product, but his ball retention from having excellent ball control/dribbling skills and a solid defensive work rate will help the team. Paulinho is a one way player so he has to play with a Capoue/Sandro (or Schneiderlin if we get him). Much rather keep Dembele than the Brazilians, Sandro has been great but he's far too injury prone now (even before he fell out with Sherwood), shades of that Liverpool Brazilian Lucas now in him, them 2 are never on the pitch.

I agree Paulinho looks best in an advanced position but that would come at Eriksen's expense or if Eriksen played on the left again which isn't ideal, if Dembele goes either Holtby or Bentaleb need to get regular minutes in the double pivot.

0-0 at Half-Time, and what a surprise (literally!), this is the exact same old garbage from last season. High-Pressing? More like no pressing, none whatsoever.

Adebayor- early signs suggesting bad Adebayor has arrived this season. Not chasing or putting in any effort whatsoever. Needs to be subbed off ASAP.

Lennon- Absolute lump of shit. I've said it several times before over the last 3-4 years and I'll say it again; he is an absolutely god awful player that offers nothing in an attacking sense. Absolutely staggered Holtby isn't playing in his spot.

Lamela- Looks dangerous in attacking positions, but still a bit rusty. Happy to be patient.

Eriksen- Not pressing at all, but still looks dangerous.

Capoue- Looks like a rock in the center, should keep his spot throughout the season.

Bentaleb- Not ready yet, totally lacks presence. I still like him, but he shouldn't have started.

Kaboul- Total garbage, doesn't look like he cares at all. Vertonghen can't come back soon enough; hell even Dawson would be an improvement.

Rose- Still struggling defensively, needs cover which he isn't getting. Davies should've started.

Naughton- Fingers crossed this is the last time we see him.

Disclaimer- Don't think for a second that I'm judging Pochettino, because I'm not. We have a lot of injuries atm and possibly some incoming transfers, so I'll cut him some slack when we lose.

It's hard not to get excited about Dier, composed 20 yo defender, great stuff.

How far away is Vertonghen and Walker? Why isn't Davies starting?

We will be significantly better when Kaboul, Naughton and Rose don't start.

Lloris was heroic again and really liked the look of Hotby and Lamela.

0-1 it finishes, with Eric Dier scoring a typical #9's goal in the 93rd minute.

I've never felt safer to say Eric Dier was the best on ground by so much it's not funny. Looked clean & composed all the way through, didn't make any mistakes, and even scored the winner. What a ****ing signing, just ecstatic.

Townsend is also a million miles better than Lennon. Looks a smarter player from what I've seen so far, but unlike Lennon, he still takes the game on like a winger should.

Eriksen was very very very poor. Needs to step up badly, joint second worst on ground with Kaboul.

Adebayor looks absolutely shocking. Soldado should've started & should start from now on.

Lastly, anyone else need convincing that Schneiderlin would be huge for us? Bentaleb just doesn't exert enough influence through the middle.

Puncheon gets sent off for a completely idiotic, unnecessary challenge, followed up by a complete lack of defensive organization, which gifts Woolwich a free corner, and they capitalize in stoppage time. Typical. It doesn't top Martin Fulop, but it's still annoying.

Thankfully, Arsenal look like poo atm, and seriously lack spark. The two goals they scored from set-pieces were the only times where they really looked dangerous. Fingers crossed they keep it up.

Rose and Kaboul were the only 2 players out there that didnt do at least 1 good thing. Both of them are deadwood and shouldn't get a look in. Lamela and Lennon both had no end product but tried to link with Adebayor who didn't look 100%. All 3 of them were below par but put in the effort when we went down to 10

Fantastic win.

Away from home, bogey side of last year, new manager, missing players and an unfair red card yet we still got the 3 points. A truly great result.

Thought Lloris and Dier were out best players. Lloris made some stunning saves and Dier looked composed throughout the entire day.

Capoue looked better in midfield than he did in defence, but adapted well. Thought Kaboul had a shocker personally. Was bullied off the ball by bloody Carlton Cole! Needs to lift.

Rose was solid. West Ham certainly identified Rose as the weak-link in the back four, and tried most of their attacks where he was positioned to varying degrees of success. Just needs to position himself better defensively. Wouldn't mind seeing Davies play for our away games.

Bentaleb was also good. We certainly have a player on our hands here. When he is on the ball he's great and generally chooses the right option. But his work off the ball leaves a bit to be desired, especially defensively.

Lamela/Eriksen/Lennon - Thought they were all pretty average today. Lamela looked nice on the ball but almost holds onto it for too long. Needs to be a bit more decisive with his decision making. Certainly opened up a few gaps though with his direct running. Lennon was poor and Eriksen had an off-day.

Ade - Given we lost a man early on, it was a difficult day for him. Better to assess his performance for another day but will be better for the run-out. Needs to press harder when we don't have it.

Naughton - Unlucky. Wasn't a red but the penalty was there.

SUBS:
Thought MP made the right subs and we looked much more fluid with both holtby and townsend playing. Kane played a great through ball for Dier and certainly made an impact.

Europa playoff match coming up and then QPR! We should be getting maximum points from both encounters I reckon

In some bad news, Koeman says Schneiderlin has accepted that he won't be sold. Now would be as good a time as any to come out into the media & slam the manager, but I won't be getting my hopes up.

Mark Noble would be a bloody good alternative, but we won't target him for some reason.

Noble is very solid but I doubt he'd ever leave West Ham until he's past it at their level (which can be either in the PL or Championship), he's spent nearly 15 years there, worked his way up through their academy and only had 2 loan spells out when he was a teenager.
