my favourite is if you asked a BLM if they have done anything about the horrendous sexual abuse of indigenous children in communities or the fact that aboriginal women are bashed by their partners at an alarming rate they will say no but we pushed over a couple of statues and got some lollies to change their name

As opposed to some non indigenous people like KAK who only use those children to deflect from other discussions they'd rather not have.

I hear what you're saying

Unfortunately the BLM protest is a shallow hollow protest. It doesn't mean it shouldn't be voiced that there is an issue in society. However to protest solely along racial lines is not only racist but ignorant.

If we were to investigate DV, drug abuse, sexual abuse of children, health outcomes etc etc; we would note this isn't a black issue rather an issue with poverty. However there is a relationship between poverty and certain races, which has triggered the BLM protestors and sent them arm waiving down the wrong path.

We also have a number of races here in Australia and around the world, that are successful despite coming from war torn lands, been dispossessed, stateless, been victims to abuse and even torture, had family members slaughtered etc etc. This is again something the BLM protestors fail to identify or acknowledge but if they did, they would quickly understand these wrongs are not the cause or justification for the poverty or other failed outcomes.

If BLM protestors wanted real change, they would:
1) identify correctly why certain parts of our society are over represented in poverty and not participating positively
2) identify how best to reduce poverty and reduce the hardship on the most vulnerable
3) implement processes to reintroduce segments of our community in a manner that enables them to participate

Unfortunately BLM chooses greater division with "whites did this to blacks". Shame and division is apparently a better solution to planning and execution of solutions.

Do you seriously think this hasn't been implemented in the US and elsewhere?
You're better off looking at why these policies have failed for the answers.
However, I think you'll find that most people protesting during the BLM demonstrations could tell you why these policies have failed.

And you know why this is? It's because it's ALWAYS easier to blame 'the other' rather than look any deeper. Ethno-nationalism is probably the least mentally-taxing ideology out there. All you ever need to do is blame 'the other" for all/any of your problems. Immigrants, I knew it was them!! They took our jobs!! Blacks, I knew it was them!! Whites, I knew it was them!! Jews, I knew it was them!! Muslims, I knew it was them!!

Sheer mental laziness. That's what ethno-nationalism is. That's what bigotry is.

no one is having the conversation about indigenous children being abused in communities, it shouldn't be up to KAK to bring it up probably highly paid aboriginal leaders would be my choice

Is it bigotry to ignore facts / reports / statistics based on race?

I don't think bigotry means what you think it means.

fu** me dead, do you need a dictionary link?

What, you think just saying 'wrong' without pointing out HOW I'm wrong is rational and productive discourse? If I challenged you on something, you better believe I'd back my statements up.

We're on opposing sides politically. This doesn't mean we can't actually have intelligent debate amongst ourselves.

Again you assume based on disagreement.

Read the definition and apply it to your own statement. Educate yourself.

Nah, you told me I was wrong. The onus is on you to show me how I was wrong. Don't worry, if I make a mistake I'll admit to it. But you called me out as wrong, so the onus is on you to show why that is.
You made the assertion of bigotry.

Part of proving it is understanding the meaning of the word and demonstrating you actually have knowledge of its meaning.

We can do this all day.

Is this how you deal with all criticism of your worldview?

Do you write in to TV stations demanding they educate you?

Say you make an assertion on something. I call you out on it. "Noidenous, you're wrong." In this kind of discourse the onus would be on ME making the call to show you where you're wrong. "Noidenous, you're wrong because..."

It should really be Poor Lives Matter if it’s going to be anything

Educate yourself instead of regurgitating buzzwords bleated by fools.

I know what racism covers. I know what bigotry covers. I know that each covers an exclusionary way of thought and/or action. You say I'm wrong. How am I wrong?

Look mate, if you just wanna say "you're wrong." and not actually add anything to the conversation, fine. Nobody's holding a gun to your head. We can leave it there.

Or you could educate yourself.

However, I think you'll find that most people protesting during the BLM demonstrations could tell you why these policies have failed.

the failure in the US is different to Australia

The US is due to being adverse to anything remotely socialist, regardless of net benefit.
Australia's failure is due to sit down money and locking people out of participating in society.

Handing out the dole is the ring bark line that is responsible for so much destruction in indigenous society. The Wave Hill walk off and subsequent policies, was necessary and the changes long over due. The failures of how those policies were implemented, can be witnessed still today.

The dole, no matter what your skin colour, should be increased but linked to work and study. No work, no study, no dole. Participation in society and life is important for everyone and I'd go as far to say, "participate for the pension". Be it an art class, a community dog walk, community gardening.......no participation, no pension.
