So how did he go?

Was stuck watching "Curb Your Enthusiasm" with my wife! Pretty funny mind you but no 83 point smashing of the Weagles.

Was good considering it wasn't exactly his type of game - not many stoppages or massive amounts of contested time. Showed great intensity and his pickpocket in the last quarter was awesome although he coughed it up a couple moments later.

Has given me hope he will make it after doubts coming in to the match. Didn't set the world on fire but never looked like he was out of his depth like Barham, Stanley and Cook have when they have been played in the AFL. Although maybe West Coast are that bad, would like to see him get a few cracks at it so he can show what his got.

At half time, you would have said he's debut was "ok", but nothing special.

But his 3rd quarter showed enough promise to give everyone a glimpse of his future.

We were getting smashed in the clearances, and MM put Blair on Priddis, and all of a sudden we started to win the clearances.

Will Blair become that elusive tagger we have been looking for, on tonights performance, MAYBE.

Slotted into the midfield seamlessly like a veteran IMO. Obviously didn't do anything that'd really stand out or amaze anyone, but he looked as comfortable and poised as any "unhyped" youngster (not a top draft pick) I've seen for a while.

Thought he was okay. Nothing to suggest he was obviously out of his depth. I don't think he has any real tagging potential though, unless MM plans on Blair playing out his career in the defensive goalsquare.

I agree with you, but I actually didn't think he did that bad in a few marking contests against some obviously bigger opponents.

But seriously I am absolutely ecstatic that he did well, I have wanted him on the senior list since half way through his first season, the kid is absolute gold.

He was alright. Wouldn't say he was 'great' but he did his part, and didn't look out of his depth as a first game player. I think he deserves another game at least, considering our next game is against Port I can't see the harm in it and maybe giving Sidey another week off.

Will Jarryd Blair be on our senior list in 2011?

On tonights performance, and with the players we know are "gone" at years end, I'd say yes at the moment, if he can continue his form in the VFL and with the odd AFL game, then yes for sure.

But he makes up for it with a great work ethic and intensity. 16 possession (8 contested) is pretty good on debut.

Pretty sure he's the same height as Brent Harvey. Which is the same height as me. Which, yes, is midget category, but he has great hands in close and is a good tackler. Certainly showed more than guys like Cook, Stanley, Nicholls, Iles etc.

He certainly did nothing wrong tonight. Looked very tough and hard around the packs which was what we all expected. He may be squeezed out of the side next week, but definitely did enough to indicate he has not played his last game of senior AFL football.

For his first game you couldn't expect much more really, did enough to keep his spot without being brilliant, imo did what he was put in the team to do, win the contented ball and I thought he did that, definitely deserves to play next week.
