Channel 10 reports Brisbane cannot offer him anywhere near what he wants and he's likely to head into the PSD.

They also reported that Clark Keating is unhappy with the Brisbane offer which is believed to be heavily performaced based. Understandable since he only seems to play 5 games a year.

If Caracella goes into the draft, i very much doubt he'll go to Essendon. Richmond will pick him up #1, one would think.

Are you sure? Listson AFL.com.au has him in the Lions squad..
He still is in the Lions squad... but is unsigned and unlikely to re-sign. According to channel 10 he hasn't even been offered a contract and has been told they don't have the money he wants.

Richmond won't take because his asking price will be too much.
$400, 000 year 1
$100, 000 year 2

or

$350, 000 year 1
$150, 000 year 2.

Further, I'd think Richmond would look at others such as, MacGough Whitlam, Knobel, and whoever else.

I don't want him back - egotistic pri*k

How is he an egotistic pri*k mate? You are kidding yourself! Blake was good for us and, although we may not get him back, is an essendon premiership player. He is anything but egotistic

Dont think Essendon have a chance if Blake goes into the PSD. You'd think one of the teams before the dons would take a player the quality of Blake.

Massive Cara fan.
Yes he was great for us, and yes I would love him back because even though we got two very good players out of the deal we have missed his ability to create space and kick goals.

But he is egotistic.

I remember reading somewhere that a player has to be paid the same amount in years 1 and 2 of his contract. Anyone got an official rule?

They can be paid uneven amounts, but as far as the salary cap is concerned, the amount is averaged so there is no benefit in a back-ended or front-loaded contract.

Ch 10 were reporting comments made by Aker.He was the one that mentioned Carrotseller & Keating.

That's the same Aker who last year said Sydney were trying to pick him up.Of course he later came out and said he made it up.

I wouldn't believe anything Aker says.

Call me mercenary, but as a Tigers fan I'd been feeling a little cheated by the lack of quality players in the PSD. Carlton got Nick Stevens last year for nothing and the Tigers had been looking at nothing better than a "recycled reject" until this news on Caracella broke. I reckon he'd be great at Tigerland.

I don't know if he would be.
He isn't much of a drinker. ;)
Maybe you're right Longy, but he could play dress ups and write poetry with Browny while the rest of the boys are on the **********.

Good idea......should suggest that to GM.

Perhaps you could get Stevie Lawrence to drive them home afterwards.

personally i would hate for him to go cause in this two years he didnt play a full season and this in turn reduced his output. he was just starting to settle at the lions. He is one of my favourite players at the Lions and he has a lot of offer to the Lions if they resign him.
