Article suggesting Fyfe is looking for a trade to Carlton, which would back up some discussion on the board.

But, the source is a bit sketchy... Sportingnews?

Saw another article where they actually used what we believe is #earlspearls twitter account. So, probably not the most credible, but we'll see if it gets any traction with bigger outlets. If there's any substance to it, there will be.

Being a long time Sturt supporter here in SA and watching the whole Port Adelaide to the AFL saga unfold all those years ago, the Crows have always been an arrogant, self righteous, cheating bunch of inbreds since their inception. Captive to the SANFL, big business, lawyers and used car salesmen, they are on par with the scum in my eyes.

I know people like to be enticed by the idea of getting Nat Fyfe and as brilliant as it would be on some counts, it goes against everything the club should, is and has been doing. The cost of Fyfe in a trade flys straight in the face of the strategy that the club has finally taken in getting away from the white knight, short cut, cheque book style recruiting. As a free agent in 2017 is another kettle of fish, but for this year it would have to be a resounding no.

Damien Barrett said today that he has fielded questions from all over about Fyfe being involved in a trade, has looked into it and nothing has emerged and he's put it to bed for what that's worth.

FWIW I think our priorities need to lie elsewhere and that is draft, draft, draft and bringing in exceptional young talent that doesn't negatively affect the net result of our drafting.

Yep agree.

Draft quality this year, then get Fyfe as a free agent next year for nothing but cap space.

You would think our player payments are low so hopefully we could front load a deal so that once our young players deserved pay days we could retain them.

Eg.

Offer Fyfe 7mil over 6 years

Pay 2mil the first 2 years, then 750k the last 4 years.

It would be like the Judd deal except we keep Kennedy and pick 3

I cant see any reason, at all, why they dont...

If players arent happy where they are playing.. they can go reset passwords on a help desk from 9-5 if they want

This is garbage...squeeze on returning home, and after 1yr is becoming a joke. For a mature player given a chance by WBD you'd think there'd be more acceptance of the contract/opportunity.
Almost time to return to zones if this continues.

I can't agree with giving clubs more power to move players. You have a right to choose where you work.

Football is a business, the clubs are employers and the employee's are the players whether we like it or not. There is no loyalty just look at the Hawks.

Employees wages are constrained and draft tells them where they must play. Both those could be blown up by lawyers in the future given the AFL uses its monopoly powers to control this.

Many players leave because they don't like their line manager (Coach) or their methods.
