I'm not sure he had that much baggage really. I think the only questionable thing he did was the Tippett deal, besides that Adelaide were very well run and he was a major reason for that. I was rather happy with the acquisition at the time.

Just further to praising those who have lifted the club, is it time we gave the board a good :thumbsu:? Given they're largely responsible for bringing in Bolton, Trigg, pissing off Swann and largely accepting we need to take the long approach to rebuilding this club. In the past they would've bristled at that suggestion and continued running the club into the ground. But the way they were able to do a complete u-turn is amazing. Probably in no small part due to Mark LoGiudice, who I was dubious of at the time of arrival, but since he's turned up we've been going one way.

Also, bringing Juddy back to the club in an official capacity is very good coup, considering he said all throughout his playing career that post footy he'd probably have nothing to do with the game. The club must be a great place to be for him to change his mind and join up. He's a great thinker of the game and will be fantastic to continue to have at the club. Not to mention the impact it will have on his family and a certain trio of brothers in the next, say, 16-20 years ;)

Haha, not likely mate, there is still a number of posters with a craw stuck in the throat about the old regime and those that remain from then. You can only judge a tree by its fruit though, the club is doing a great job :thumbsu:

Carlton presented to Dusty Martins entourage yesterday.

IF Gibbs left they would demand 2 1st rounders again and would use these picks to chase Josh Kelly. If Gibbs stays, they wont chase Kelly.

Wonder if Adelaide would consider it a better option to go after Dusty and give up on Gibbs.
That would be a good scenario as we would keep Gibbs and still get to go after Kelly!!

Curious Preuss isn't being mentioned in this discussion. Obviously a good ruckman, but plays forward as well.

Has he been re-signed by the 'Roos? There has been occasional comments, but nothing concrete.
Feel like North would be mad to not try and trade Goldstein this year and keep Preuss as their number 1 ruck.

On face value - no. Sos has better insight to the people and what they're like. So not really sure. I'm sure SOS will do his due diligence and have a look.

Agreed

Last year I wasn't really interested. Seems like he has turned things around and would be open to him coming in. At least he wouldn't cost us draft picks/players.

Would probably suit Adelaides needs more than Gibbs tbf.
If you were SOS, would you chase Rocky?
I'd certainly ask the question and make an offer, if only to drive the price up. If he comes to us, bonus. I reckon he has pulled his head in a bit knowing no one wanted him last trade period and I think Bolton could keep him in check.

If Rucci is writing it, then it a sure thing that the crows will be after Gibbs again this trade period.

It is timely to point out right about now, that the journo's know absolutely nothing except the 99% misinformation that player manager;s sometimes tell them.

When you(as in anyone) reads/hears something from a journo that ACTUALLY sounds solid, you will recognise it from the usual plentiful filler/fodder.

I agree totally with this. I was in Melbourne a few weeks ago to see the GWS game and went to the VFL game the day before. M Lo was there walking around and at half time had about twenty Blues fans around him (all older blokes) and he was having a great two way conversation with them. Not just the formal speel, but actually listening and engaging. He got my vote there and then.

Michelangelo Rucci is running a story that says the Crows have gone cold on Gibbs and they're going after Rockliff instead.
They easily could've got both last year and been a seriously scary prospect this year.

If we're well and truly in the mix at some point in the future, no way I'll be accepting conservative list management.
