People who think that North would even entertain the possibility of trading Braydon Preuss for loose change must be living in some sort of delusional psychosis.

He's as important to their future as anyone considering they are looking to shop Goldstein around.

Well, they'll need to find a way to offload his albatross of a contract which expires at the end of 2019.

He signed it as an AA, it's probably close to 700k, at least, for another 2 years.

Given all of the public announcements North have made about how much cap space they currently have (evidenced by their nonsensical offers to anybody willing to entertain a move), I'm assuming that they'll take a hit and absorb some of his salary just to move him on and gain trade currency (i.e draft picks).

They'll eventually need to put their money where their mouth is.

And their supporters have been so arrogant and chirpy on Bigfooty. Extremely condescending and nasty in their evaluation of Carlton and so bullish about their own average list

I'm not sure what they're so chirpy about:

1. Middle of the road list, that is heavily reliant on older players and unsure if their in the midst of a 'top up' or a rebuild.

2. Average coach who met with and was considering taking over at the Lions when Leppitsch was given the flick late last year.

3. Membership that is likely outdrawn by most NEAFL sides despite AFL funding.

4. Until recently, suffering from an identity crisis hence their name changes from North Melbourne to the Kangaroos and alienating what already little fan base they have by playing games out of Tasmania.

4. Insecurities about their list and relevance as a club in the competitive Victorian football media market - hence their crazy and over the top offers to players for them to even consider joining them and to try and get their clubs name in the paper.

Pass.

I thought Preuss was toweled up by Philips until he went of injured.

FB: Byrne - Weitering - Plowman
HB: Docherty - Marchbank - Williamson

Macreadie, Pickett, (Liam Jones), (Alex Silvagni)

We're set with defenders of McKenzie's type.

If we're to put money into a veteran defender then you'd have to think that it would be a lockdown small defender. This is something that McKenzie isn't.

McKenzie would be great if we didn't have all of Weitering, Plowman, Marchbank and Macreadie and if he wasn't so injury prone. Unfortunately, his legs are made of glass. He hurt his calf in an intraclub match earlier in the year, returned only to injure his hamstring. He returned at the end of May and injured his leg again. Last year he missed games to ankle and quad issues.

In conclusion, it's too big of an investment for a role that we have covered.

As an aside, I wonder how inept the Gold Coast Suns medical staff are. We've had our history with poorly diagnosed injuries but it seems like the Suns have an unending list of leg injuries. Obviously, I'm not counting freak injuries like Barlow's as no amount of medical science and knowledge can prevent them.
McKenzie is also one of those blokes who is probably an 11 out of 10 for kicking and 2 or 3 out of 10 for everything else. If you could get it to him on his left side, in space, every time then he would be a weapon. But the fact he would need to defend or run to make space or go third man up or learn how to zone off or learn how to play loose man effectively doesn't fill me with confidence.

In my experience it's the supporters of the sides that are going nowhere (Richmond, Collingwood, Norf) who talk down our list and what we are building. Supporters of sides that have strong lists or who are heading strongly in the right direction tend to be more honest and optimistic about us (this is obviously in general, individual supporters can vary greatly.) I put it down to pure jealousy. :)

I don't really care if Casboult stays or go but I hope the blues offer him enough that if another club wants him we get a band 2 at the very least.

Sounds like a good idea, but that's not exactly how things may play out.
Once you've made your bid, you have to hold true to it.

We could though send off the right signals/impressions etc. as to what we may do.

So a slight upgrade on Matthew Watson then.

:p

Well we won a flag with Leigh Brown so anything is possible I guess... what the hell... lets do this

The supporters don't like it... Rockin the Casboult... Rock the Casboult!

I'm not sure where the perception he gets easy ball has come from. He's a gun mid, runs hard and is tough. His disposal is very good too.

No exposure is probably doing him in a bit
what you hear most of the time is that he is a trouble maker, but it seemed to be when he was captain that the power went to his head....but he can play and too many supporters seem to dismiss players from other clubs as not up to it.......anyone who is in and under and has a bit of grunt is a valuable commodity in my book and what we need, but sos would know if he is a risk or not..........if he played in Victoria people would probably see him in a better light, you are correct..............

This is a fallacy that people like to trot out.
So not true...even though they don't have pace or long metres gained does not mean they are not gun players.

Rockliff's possessions would look more damaging if he had better players around him who actually did something positive once he gives the ball to them...you can't blame him if his teammates are in the wrong position or then lose the ball.

Rockliff and Mitchell are guns.
totally agree.......if you keep getting the ball out like they do you just need better players around you for it to pay big dividends eventually.........
