Also turned Geelong's 2016 1st rounder into pick 8 (Harry)We sure did and got Kerridge and pick 28 which was on-traded to GWS for the GWS4 - Plowman, Sumner, Lamb & Phillips.
I did cashed it in ..they asked for change.."Take it to the bank"
Don't reckon Gaz will be playing for much. Reckon he's happy just to come back to Geelong and play for a average sum.
I think Gaz's idea of "an average sum" is about $900k per year!!!!!
If we got him for nix, we could do worse. The potential is definitely there, if Bolts can instill the necessary work ethic, who knows?
Maybe Port can pick up both brothers somehow...........?Agreed. Due diligence and against talent on offer this draft.
There goes the hope of the Menzel Bros playing AFL together.
We're prepared to Rookie Sumner, Menzel has far more upside, but he really does need a rocket up his backside.
you are right, and I remember Emma Quayle saying just after we drafted him that she thought that he could turn out to be the most "gifted" player in the draft.......she may have meant if he worked hard at it.Troy Menzel, what could have been.
Go watch some of his games this year, if you call that finished then what do you call our midfielders??!!
He could do a Scotty Thompson and decline badly over the off-season but Ablett had a season that was just about, if not on-par with Murphy
I read somewhere that it would be around the 500k a year mark.......average for Ablett but not for others!!!Don't reckon Gaz will be playing for much. Reckon he's happy just to come back to Geelong and play for a average sum.
Aww but they do have a shiny new battery that should last almost a day ...
What a trade by SOS, I was worried at first but I know now not to question the gods.

We would probably have to throw in pick 38 if it happened, I would imagine.Because they are desperate for Rayner apparently.
I agree on the being lazy part, but you try breaking into yhe Adelaide forward line this year......Only 4 games at the Crows since traded.
Such a waste of potential talent.
Sure, maybe that's tough, but is it get-in-or-get-delisted tough?I agree on the being lazy part, but you try breaking into yhe Adelaide forward line this year......
I'd have thought trading him to Adelaide would have been the rocket...We're prepared to Rookie Sumner, Menzel has far more upside, but he really does need a rocket up his backside.

the distance is shorter but some of us didn't deal too well with the Hendo go home
He's had the kick in the backside already but obviously it didn't work. Such a shame. I had high hopes for him.might be the kick in the backside he needs
Some info from a close (Crows member ) friend's Carlton contacts. Apparently we are still dealing with GWS on a multi player deal that didn't have Smith as a focus. This and SOS wanting to stockpile picks for 2018 was the main reason for us not going harder after Smith, hence Smith baulking when his manager became aware of our strategy. Most of the trade scenarios revolve around the Crows' Lever and Cameron wash up, setting up a reasonable Crows offer for Gibbs. They are spewing at the moment and want a 'win' by bringing home the prodigal sun, so are amenable to a reasonable trade (by market standards, not Crows). They have gone hard (and late) after Motlop under FA as they are expecting something decent from Brisbane for Cameron.
Not earth shattering news but joins a few dots at least.
I suspect one of 3 maybe.Interesting. Something of quality rather than list cloggers and salary dumps I hope.
