Fortunately, I feel confident that we won't be paying overs for anyone in the future with SOS at the helm. Certainly not in the next couple of years as we build a team anyway. If you are going to pay a huge premium, do it on someone that is finishing your team off IMHO, and do it through free agency.

It's so damn simple when you articulate it like that. Amazing that so many don't get it.

We might get something back from the suns as well. To get JOM we'll need to pay.
he'd need to produce this year for the sort of trade you're talking about.

Would consider something like: (obviously ignoring any order shuffling and assuming we finish bottom and they finish say 12th)

1,19, Everitt (apparently Eade loves him)
7,O'Meara, 5th rounder

Seems reasonable. I don't like the idea of trading Everitt (plus another leading goal kicker out the door), but understand the hard calls have to be made.
I'd still be nervous about taking on JOM's knees if it was to eventuate.

We won't have pick 1 or 19. I'll assure you of that.

The season hasn't even started and we have already finished LAST before the ball has even been bounced!

GOOD LORD!

Oh and never assume! :D

Keep your hair on... both of you.

We are more likely to have #1 or #2 than not

Wouldn't O'Meara also want something in the vicinity of 700 - 750 K per season? Would be financially irresponsible of the club (especially one in full rebuild mode) to pay that.

Frankly I think we should wait and bide our time till Jesse Hogan or a Jezza Cameron type power forward is out of contract, O'Meara is simply a luxury we can't afford (or need tbh) at this point in time.

Pretty much.
For too long blokes have only been interested in Carlton for the money on offer.
If we manage this rebuild right, we'll begin to be a club that blokes are willing to take a paycut to join.
That our tpp was reportedly higher than the Premiers this past season is a joke..

Bingo, and we lost Eddie Betts mainly because we were hamstrung by the ridiculous contracts the likes of Rob Warnock were on.

I'd be wanting to lock up Paddy Cripps on a long term deal before we started going 'shopping' anyway.

Not sure. I have a feeling the bombers will end up with pick #1 and then be allowed 10 top up picks when no other club is allowed.:mad::mad:

:p
They've already committed to bringing back all 12 players, including re-signing the ones out of contract.

550k scaling up to 700k when he's 23-24 (with clauses in regards to appearances) would be about his value.

He was averaging 22 possessions a game in his first two season. Kid is a gun if fit, and will become one of the premier midfielders in the game.

Yeah, I know. Was just extracting the urine.

They have to take back all 12.

Anyone they dropped would sue for loss of income. For sure. Even if it's impossible to establish IF they did(n't) deserve another contract, it would be a terrible look....

My rumour wishlist under the age of 23y.o. (prediction of 10% to come true haha) that I would like to see in a Navy Blues jumper. I admit there might be others that are better footballers in their respecive sides but I just personally like these guys.

Who would your top 5 be from the list below?
Adelaide: Charlie Cameron - 21yo small forward
Brisbane: Lewis Taylor - 20yo midfielder
Collingwood: Jack Crisp - 22yo midfielder alternatively (alt.) Tom Langdon
*: In-eligible
Fremantle: Lachie Neale - 22yo midfielder
Geelong: Nakai Cockatoo - 19yo midfielder alt. Jackson Thurnlow
GC: Jaeger O'Meara alt. Kade Kolodjashnij alt. Jack Martin alt. Peter Wright
GWS: Dylan Shiel - 22yo midfielder alt. Adam Tomlinson
Hawthorn: James Sicily - 21yo forward alt. Billy Hartung alt. Jonathan O'Rourke
Melbourne: Jesse Hogan - 20yo key forward alt Angus Brayshaw
North Melbourne: Taylor Garner - 22yo midfielder
Port Adelaide: Ollie Wines - 21yo midfielder alt. Chad Wingard
Richmond: Ben Lennon - 20yo midfielder alt. Nick Vlastuin alt. Brandon Ellis
St Kilda: Jake Billings - 20yo midfielder alt. Luke Dunstan alt. Paddy McCartin alt. Hugh Goddard
Sydney: Tom Mitchell - 22yo midfielder alt. Isaac Heeney
WCE: Eliot Yeo - 22yo midfielder alt. Dom Sheed alt. Liam Duggan
WB: Marcus Bontempelli - 20yo midfielder alt. Jackson Macrae

Tough going picking 5 players out of that list of 35 players. My Lachie Neele pick may be seen as a little strange, and I wish I could have included my boy Tom Mitchell who I hope joins us next year, along with 3-8 others of these players.
