I play volleyball with my 14 year old step daughter and a group of young adults. They take bets before the match as to which joint/muscle I will injure first. Little mongrels. Bugger em though, I'm hanging on as long as I can.

You think that's bad? I only stopped playing vets footy three years ago, we always had at least 8 to 10 blokes missing every week through injury.... Not one of those was actually a footy injury though. It was Johnno sprained his back picking up his grandson, Macca stubbed his toe getting up for a piss at 4am, Hank broke his hip bringing the shopping in from the car, etc etc.

Can't shut up any longer. Not sure whether to feel old or proud at the moment. Have some real physical issues,
youngest is 27 and just found out have another on the way.....and I am to be stay at home Dad.:drunk::thumbsu::rainbow:
:fire:still burning:D

Edit: 2nd wife....massive upgrade

2 daughters 19 and 3. Keeps you young ... sort of.

Have you seen the 1984 game. Some skinny croweater with a mullet kicked 10 goals.
Not only did I see it, I remember the massive gust of wind as the Carlton chequebooks were flung open.

10 goals and not one trademark helicopter.

Be proud, big effort by you. Plus there's plenty of time to feel old when the new one gets his/her license. It'll happen in the blink of an eye.

Speaking of old vs proud, my nineteen year old plays at the same club I played at, wears the same number and plays the same possie. Every time he gets the footy, somewhere in the crowd this conversation takes place amongst the club's old timers...

"Good kid that one, better than his old man"

"Oh yeah, much better, tougher too"

"Much tougher, better kick than his old man as well"

"Oh yeah, much better kick, better hands too"

"Quicker, he's quicker than his old man was, better clearance player too..."

OK, I GET IT! HE'S BETTER THAN I WAS, I GET IT! ...

My youngest brother was born a couple of months after I turned 21... my dad's third wife.

I would've thought all your kids would be younger than you, not just the second one...

Actually reads the other way. Second Mum is 8 years younger. Makes it sound like I raised the first Mum instead of the first child however.

I missed that completely. In my attempt to be funny and witty, I missed the funniest part... Officially, I'm an idiot!

It's not official yet. We'll announce all board awards in December.

Don't feel bad. I peaked in my first few months here with a brilliant post detailing how Grigg was going to be an excellent player for Carlton for many years...

I vividly remember your epic battle re Jacobs with what at the time seemed like every bloody South Australian in the country .
A truly gargantuan performance , and i remember thinking at the time , this man mustn't have slept for weeks !!

2 different Mums. Second one younger than me. Raised the first myself though.

The "uncomfortable" part of our little miracle is that my son (turning 27) and his Mrs are desperate to have a little one.
Been through all of the procedures etc trying to conceive. Old Dad (54) and first time Mum at 38 had to break the news to the young 'uns. We were "trying" without expectation as both been through the mill with injuries, myriads of Xrays, scans etc. Doctor been ultra vigilant/cautious but everything "perfect" so far.

Told my parents months ago that if it happened it happened, they did their best to discourage as my baby brother is almost 18 years younger and they had "issues". Never going to deny the Mrs the opportunity if it came along so all systems go. Life been pretty ordinary, so this has provided massive incentive to improve health etc as can't afford to
be "defeatist" (just existing) now.

Hasten to add all are pleased and excited now it is actually happening:)

I shaved my head about 6 months ago for charity. Mates wife says, 'Nice job, makes you look younger, you should keep it. You don't look over 50 now. How old are you?' 'Um, just turned 48.' 'Sorry, hahahaha' '$&@?!'

My baby turns 8 on the 13th, you do the math. All the best Coona.
