My Condolences to the Rose Family.

I am too young to have seen Bob Rose play, but non-the-less I know the legend that is Bob Rose. He was a fantastic player and a fantastic person who had the respect of not only the Collingwood Football Club but the respect from the Footy community as a whole.

Collingwood, and footy, has lost a true legend and he will be missed.

Rest in Peace Bob Rose!

A larger than life figure ... a Collingwood icon ... But a man who always put the most important things first.

A man who experienced more heartbreak and tragedy than anyone deserves to experience in life ... but he met all this with courage and dignity.

Bob Rose is proof eternal ... that great men (like great football Clubs) sometimes finish second ... often.

This is a tragedy that somehow consumates every tragedy that Collingwood has ever known.

A lot of history died tonight.

I don't know whether to say R.I.P. Bob Rose ... or R.I.P. Collingwood.

Because they are one and the same.

Vale Bobby Rose the greatest Magpie of them all.

This isnt aimed at anyone who has already posted necessarily but no crocodile tears from those who have lambasted Collingwood's so called failures in 1964 (4 pts) 1966 (1 pt) and 1970 (10 pts) as Bobby Rose was the coach of those teams.

You have indirectly called Rose a failure by your sniping so dont crap on about him being a legend.

It is the saddest night for this Collingwood supporter's life of support of 39 seasons and on a par with the destruction of the career of John Greening.

sick MG... trying to use the death of a good man to win an arguement... you are one pathetic bastard...

RIP Bob Rose...

I am not getting into this with you... and honostly it is sick... but what ever turns you on...

You chose to respond. Your decision.

For the Collingwood haters it is two faced to the extreme to cry for the most loved son. They type their crap about 1 in 45 years etc etc. Now they want to show how warm and endearing they are and hey "we really care".

To them I say FCUK OFF.

I am no saying you are one of them. They know who they are themselves.

Take it up elsewhere MGREG...

RIP Bobby Rose, the true Magpie champion.

Let's hope the no.22 gets out on the field this weekend and has a blinder.

Will the guy that wears no. 22 be in the Collingwood side this weekend? is he injured??

Will be very emotional for PIE fans.

RIP ROSE

I agree it will be very emotional. I hope they do some sort of tribute to Bob Rose before the game.

Rhyce Shaw wears No. 22 for Collingwood. He has been injured, but I believe he was close last week (he was replaced last minute) so hopefully he'll be right this week.

A great footballer but much more importantly, a great man.

My partner is 3rd generation Collingwood, and says the name of Bob Rose makes every Pie fan sit up a bit straighter and walk a bit taller. I can't think of anyone, from any club, who was or is his equal for the generosity of his commitment to club, game and family - never heard a bad word about him and never expect to.

Condolences to his family and friends, and to all the Collingwood supporters who will be bereft to hear this news.

I think Rhyce would make it out on to the ground this weekend even if he had one leg missing. I have no doubt he will play.

RIP Bob Rose, a great Collingwood man, a great man in general.

Sad news for both the Rose and Waite family's. Bob is regarded at Collingwood as one of thier absolute best ever players and has been a devoted servant of the club for a long time. A man who will be missed for his grace as mucg as what he contributed on the field, in the coaches box and in the back room.

Bob Rose IS COLLINGWOOD.

A Collingwood Legend
A VFL Legend
A Great Footscray man for a brief period (Thank You)

A Great Man

Condolences to his family, his friends and the CFC.

A very sad day. Here's cheers to a great Collingwood man who now has the best view at all Collingwood games.

Say hello to my mum in the upper level, she loved you very much.

My dad who had the pleasure to watch Bob Rose play and then get to know him through his business says he was an absolute champion as a player, but more importantly a truly great bloke.

From my dad and myself - RIP Bob.
