I don't care if they pay $300 per match to watch, booing or bronx-cheering their own team is woeful form.

The fact that they've sacrificed themselves and done the selfless act of forking out a bit of cash to sit in a seat and be entertained for 3 hours doesn't provide them with a leave pass to do what they want.
 
Seems I've hit a raw nerve with the truckers cap comment.
Apologize if that's how anyone chooses to dress at the footy, really nothing against it (and the same applies to hot dog eaters).
 
This all makes sense now because I realize Robbie looked a bit flat when singing the song in the club rooms. Obviously I'm tipping that the abuse got to him a bit.

The ****ing W A N K E R S who did it should be disgraced to call themselves North Melbourne supporters. In fact they can **** off to Essendon for all I care.
 
Confidence can make or break a key forward. Any idiot that abuses a young bloke who has developed brilliantly and been one of the catalysts of the teams revival this season despite having less than 20 senior games experience doesn't deserve to be part of this club. Doesn't matter how much money you have, if you are a supporter it's pretty bloody simple, SUPPORT, or piss off to Richmond where this behaviour is accepted and with 30 years of abysmal football you'll soon find out how effective it is.

Brad: You cant expect individually they'll kick a bag of goals every week, you have to judge them as a unit. (reporter asks question re: booing) Yeah, Ridiculous. Embarrassing from North Melbourne people... Embarrassing. Shouldnt happen at our club, just absolutely ridiculous, those people want to take a good hard look at themselves. Look at the unit, they did a brilliant job today. I constantly say we have the best supporters in the league and I honestly believe that, but obviously a small percentage are letting us down with that sort of stuff.

I go to other peoples games and hear their supporters doing that... and I dont hear that from North Melbourne supporters, so lets hope it was the last time we hear that.

Yeah well Tarrant was a changed man after receiving that big cheer from the NMFC faithful. Previously to "that incident" he struggled. After "that incident" he kicked 3 nice goals. Should be more off it. :stern look

These are the type of people that would yell at their kids for spelling a word wrong.

They expect perfect football 100% of the times. Aint going to happen.

I was down at the cheersquad end. I heard a few Bronx cheers for Lachie and Robbie in the first half but no boos or Bronx cheers after half time when we had clearly pulled the finger out.
 
I think the telling point is these Bronx cheerers would not dream of doing that to Drew, Boomer or Wellsy regardless of how badly either of those guys was playing. So why do it to a player with 20 odd games experience? I think we are talking about fat slobs in truckers caps who are also bullies - the lame kind who buckle if you stand up to them. Definitely un-North Melbourne-like. :mad:

Even the most bias supporter would have to admit Tarrant and Hansen had poor first halves. Hansen had a couple of big moments where we could've got a goal but fumbled or dropped a mark.

Still doesn't excuse booing them. Terrible. Great to see Brad Scott give them a full on rip in his press conference, and I hope they realise Petrie wouldn't have kicked any of his bags if we didn't have a couple of other capable tall forwards.

Hope one of Tarrant/Hansen puts us into the finals with a matchwinning goal, and they stick it right up their detractors.
 
The players need to remember that following a team is for a lot of ppl the most important part of their lives, simple as that, players earn multi million dollar salaries playing in front of working class strugglers who put a lot of money they probably shouldn't into paying their salaries, if a player on a couple hundred thousand a year can't handle the word 'boo' coming from a supporter then that player should go and get a job in the real world.
Won't be long and we'll have players breaking down at press conferences and bawling their eyes out.

Fair comments. Both of them worked hard, got good position ( for themselves and for the other forwards), laid tackles etc. it would have been good to see more marks held - more a knock on Lachie as he's so much bigger and more experienced than Robbie. Would never boo or give ironic cheers to a North player, even if it's the first thing they've done well all day, they get nothing but encouragement from me and most supporters.
 
"Just kick it" drives me bloody bonkers! Especially when bringing it out of defense. I know, how about you have a f****** look around the ground and see that a quick kick out of defense will only result in the ball coming straight back in and probably over the umps hat. No clue!!

Supporting a club is meant to be a literal term. You support by cheering the good and enduring the bad. I remember "wisely" turning to my uncle after seeing Adam Simpson's first game and saying - "he won't amount to much"

VERY VERY proud to say I was bloody foolish. But I would never boo or jeer a player...

flat first half today - hard to watch
 
Booing our own players is just not on.
I could never do that personally.
Hopefully Tarrant didn't let it get to him, he played a top 2nd half :thumbsu:
 
I don't understand why the supporters would boo today when we've played much worse football and those two have played worse before.

Doesn't add up.
