Melbourne got out of that with respect to their silver clash strip when Jim Stynes took over. If the club was looking to rebuild under a leadership, when things have gone to shit under the old management, I can see the AFL relaxing that restriction.

The AFL rules seem to be flexible if they want them to be.

We can only hope. The switch to a new apparell supplier certainly provides a nice chance to make a change.

I won't name them specifically, but there is a poster on here who is extremely well known for their knowledge of the people and internal dynamics of the club, and he/she () recently remarked (not on here) that there were some very good people still at the club who cared deeply for it and who were determined to get it back on the right path.

Eloquently spoke TBD. Will be surprised if there is not announcement of a return to some version of the traditional lion, and a public re-affirmation of our Fitzroy heritage & Victorian support in the near future.

Now is the time for us all to contact the club, both to show support, but also to let the new CEO know which way we want the club to go.

I remember when the original piss stain jumper was introduced, it was revealed that jumper designs are lodged with the AFL and locked in for a minimum period of two years. So we may be stuck with the Paddle Pop for another year yet.

If jumpers are percieved too negative for a club you can have them changed after one.

Also in 2008 Geelong changed there clash jumper after 12 months because of Logo and jumper manufacturers changes.

So the AFL has set a precident, even though I expect Paddle Pop to be there in 2011 you can't dismiss a change back.

Fantastic news, but as others have said, I'm keen to see the replacement before leaping for joy.

They're making it more and more difficult for all those prospective angry young men to remain fired up for the AGM, TBD.

While the main identifiable culprits may be gone, this particular (now less) angry (not so) young man will still be demanding to see checks and balances put in place to ensure the club doesn't manage to dig itself into a similar hole in future.

Glad he's finally gone, i was at a grand final breakfast in melb and one current lion and one former player were doing a guest speaking gig and from what they were saying not many of the players liked him. They told a story about pikey headbutting him one night.

Supporters getting a bit more militant and voice their disapproval of the Clayton’s review

* The review moves to include some consultancy group recommended by Voss and Bowers

Bullshit move seen as Voss and Bowers trying to cover their arse

* Resistance to having independent persons involved in the review

Last attempt at protecting their job

* Angus and the Board pull rank and move to have an all embracing, all department review headed by independent personnel

Angus shows some leadership, direction and focus

* The result of the review identifies many areas that require immediate attention

Public announcements of the outcome of the review. Transparent and communicating to all of the supporter base

* The departure of Collins and several others

The man seen as the reason for player discontent removed. Collins may not have been the villain that he was portrayed but he was the victim of time and circumstance

* Recruitment of many new positions continues. First appointments begin.

Supporters begin to feel a real change coming on with the appointment of new and additional personnel in the football department

* Kerr has a better than expected trading week by delivering six draft picks inside 35

After the experience of the Gumby years, supporter’s faith is restored in our footy department by Dr Kerr delivering an excellent outcome in the trading week

* Bowers resigns

Finally we can look forward with a feeling that’s more than just hope. Dare I say, bring on 2011.

depending on how the 'contract' is written and stuff' i think its too late to get the jumper changed for 2011 but 2012 it will be GONE! Hope we can do somthing before then but if it means spending money better used for football dept or club developement just for one season then its not worth it!

Right now its better if we dont get in another legal mess over something that may only last a short time.

lets get ourselve back on track first....this can sort itself out in due course
