So you are saying this isn't a good 22?

F: Paul Medhurst Chris Dawes Jack Anthony
HF: Tarkyn Lockyer Travis Cloke Brent Macaffer
CEN: Sharrod Wellingham Steele Sidebottom John McCarthy
HB: Simon Buckley Ben Reid Jarrad Blight
B: Nick Maxwell Simon Prestigiacomo Tyson Goldsack
FOLL: Darren Jolly Luke Ball Shane O'Bree
BENCH: Josh Fraser Jaxson Barham Jarryd Blair Tristan Francis

 you mean Blair not Blight, as Blight is lining up in the VFL praccy match with the Russ, a lot of us mix up Blair and Blight

I'd rather we braced ourselves for a good hit out that tests some structures and let's us see how some of the newer players go under pressure against external opposition - win or lose (though of course no-one wants the mental downer of being demolished).

I hope it won't rain so that we get a dry-day look at Carter and Blair for at least a half (Presti and O'Bree as supersub insurances if we are going pear-shaped).

- That we experiment some more with the Buckley, Macaffer, Barham run withs/ tagging roles - though I'm not sure who they'd tag in this Tigers team.
- experiment with Francis and/or Jmac at 'back pocket' or the defender on small forwards
- Reid of course is still a work in progress down back
- Sidebottom gets to be Swan as chief linkman, supported by Lockyer
- a whole mess of stuff can be experimented with via our tall forward options
- and then there's Sinclair (in the bests last week) in the Mid and Hunter as a medium forward to experiment further with
- Cook and Corrie deserve the chance to re-show their wares. No one may buy-in, but I saw one of Cook's early games against VFL Werribee and he was great. Incisive flat kicks into the 50, courageous marks in the front of packs, great awareness. One could see then why Hine spent an un-suspected pick in the 20's to draft him. After that it can become a game between the ears and the confidence (on the field) may wane.
- Lots of things to brace ourselves for, but losing by a respectible margin isn't one of them.

Prior to writing this up I didn't notice on the Collingwood site the listed players. In my lineup I included both Blight and Blair anyway due to lack of available players.

Blight/ Rounds could have easily played for Corrie/ Cook. And probably should be.

Tomorrow's result is irrelevant, but I will be bracing myself if the Tigers happened to beat us when the real stuff starts.

I was overseas and missed the St Kilda match, so tomorrow shall be my first live viewing of Bally.... how much room should I make allowance for in the frontal area of my trousers?

I'd suggest strapping it down... You don't want to be poking anyone's eyes out!

Probably Still Go:thumbsu:
Same here, thinking that the weather may not "kick in" till later in the night, so maybe the game might be over before the worst of it kicks in.

Plus, Carlton were nice enough to go into millions of dollars of debt to build the legends stand, so even if it rains there is enough cover for us all.:)

They're okay for your average man, but guys like you and me spurn that tired scene.

Indeed - we have truly evolved beyond pants. They have gone the way of stone tools, typewriters and ruckmen resting in the forward pocket.

If only my fellow train commuters would see it that in that light.

I keep telling you they wouldnt mind it so much if you stopped touching that

Until they provide explicit signage 'pants required' I say do it the beatnik way.

How do you strap down a dragon?
Francis Dolarhyde famously ate his dragon to tame it, but that didn't really work out that well.
Heretell of a lady by the name of Mini the Moocher who had a fair dragon taming effect, but then she was a low down hoochy coocher.
Meh! All good if it tames your dragon I suppose.

The best bet is some of my patented triple strength "Dragon Skin" Armoured Undies.
Horrendously uncomfortable, but they can withstand several direct hits from a depleted uranium shell and have the added benefit of being well ventilated, protecting those all important seed.:D
