Adelaide actively pushed a bloke out of the club who wanted to stay because they wanted to take advantage of free agency, which is bullshit. Saints offer of 600k over 4 is more than fair. That's his market value.
for those who want to be frustrated that essendon got 7, remember Brisbane severely overpaid what he's worth to make that happen. They are the ones who chose to overpay a player to avoid giving up selections for him. Nothing to do with essendon.

I could read salty posts like this all day long. Firstly, I still don't think crows match which would be a disaster result for you, but let's say they do match...
Know on ebay when you bid WHAT YOU VALUE AN ITEM AT, and you don't get it? Doesn't affect you one bit. There are plenty of other paths not named brouch, particularly with next years' bumper FA mid crop. Not overpaying for brouch is the sound move.
Can you link the post where you expressed these sentiments when you signed Frawley?

Sounds like it might even be closer to band 3 than 1.
There is variation from year to year due to being ranked against the contracts of peers being a key factor. Ellis I read was 550k/year, which may have been on the edge of bands 2 and 3. Huge variation when you finish top. But if Crouch gets us band 3, it's going to be much earlier than what you got for Ellis.

Which should be a wake up call as to what his value is.

Adelaide if they valued him more would have offered more before he tested the market and then came back asking for a match.
Its also a wake up call if this goes to the PSD. No other club is going to step in here. Hes at his highest point.
If saint offer less in a trade than the compo pick it means they risk losing him for nothing at the PSD given no other club is going to take him.

The biggest loser here is Adelaide supporters who thought pick 2 was a possibility to help launch a rebuild.
