The loss of McGovern, Cameron and Lever. 3 of the best 23s at the time, Charlie especially hurts if u have seen him play. Then the older players getting older and not performing as well.

Don’t think we are a a bad as people think, most of what we are trading is players not in our next premiership window.

The real question is do GC want to improve or not. If they want to improve, they’d trade pick 1 and 2 or both SA boys and instantly get better and more competitive. If it’s the Crouches or someone else, or they will be stuck in a cycle until they fold.

Roos did it with Melbourne when he was there and traded pick 2 (Kelly) for Tyson and pick 9, then trade in some hardened bodies as well. Youth is not the answer and they have had enough top draft pick of the years. The allure of pick 1 and 2 make people to tempted.

With the AFL giving them extra picks, it’s the year to trade. I just think they are to scared or to dumb to do it

It’s the year to trade, just not picks 1&2, Rowell and Anderson are a package deal and coming to the suns... unless someone wants to trade us a Fyfe, Dangerfield etc (not happening of course)
For brad Crouch I’d do next years first (still potentially pick 1) .
And of course Lukosius comes in to the equation IF he has told the club he has no intention of re-signing. But that’s purely an if.

Time to walk away.
There’s nothing to walk away from really craig cameron said suns have no interest in him at his current asking price and for what the crows want for him.

His manager has completely F***** this up

I think they need to trade all picks including pick 1 and 2 to get competitive, doesn’t need to be with Adelaide. Break the cycle and get 4 top players and you will see an instant improvement and they young players you already have will be better as well.

All good if you can see top players wanting to come to us. We’ve got two handy players say they’re coming in Ellis and Greenwood, if Brad came too he’s instantly our best mid. There’s talk that we have a veteran or two on their way too. But unless there’s a true elite player coming 1&2 won’t happen. But with the other PP concessions there’s plenty there to trade.

OK so Sun's aren't into him for a MIL, fair enough that won't happen. But what do they think he's worth, surely they have communicated that to his management. They should offer him more than Adelaide will and get it done. The players they might bring in this year will instantly make them a 8th-13th side next year. Even higher, who can really tell. Give the crows a future first and a player/late pick swap

Not really. I'd imagine our interest and willingness to facilitate Adelaide fantasies stayed pretty much exactly the same.

You on the other hand, may have talked yourself into wanting more.

Nothing to do with me but I can imagine the club and if the rumours are true the new coach, won’t be letting the clubs best and fairest walk without how did Craig nuffy Cameron put it??? It would have to be an extraordinary set of circumstances

I agree, I don't think GC should be entertaining any offers for picks 1 and 2 and I'd be filthy if my club passed on Rowell and Anderson. Having said that I think that if you're bringing in those pieces that there has never been a better time to trade for someone like BCrouch to give you that leadership and hardness through your mid that sets the standard for these young blokes.

I think if GC aren't interested in trading Luko then Crows should be looking for a way to get hold of GC's 2020 pick with an eye on the Riley Thilthorpe as a local SA kid who looks like a good prospect up forward for us to build around. Brad had a good year and is likely to only get better, but if he leaves then Gibbs can go back to playing inside mid which is where he is best suited to, and creates a spot for someone like McHenry.

GC's first next year will be well up for trade I reckon. Whether it is for Crouch or most likely someone else if we can get anyone across the line.

Did I see David Mackay finish top 10 in this same best and fairest.
Must have been a big fall away behind the first few..

It's evidence of just how bad our year has been, Mackay has been his usual ineffectual self but is still relatively consistent enough that he can make this year's B+F top 10 (his votes per game have barely changed in the last several years and he has rarely ever been near the top 10 in his career).

Reckon our runners might even get a chance to earn some votes ;).

Don't feel too down on the Crows. Jack Viney finished 3rd in the Dees B and F after a career worst/putrid season :),

I'd like to see and Adelaide/Gold Coast mega trade.

Youth and picks to the Crows, quality established players to the Suns. Would be good for the competition. Adelaide are stale and haven't had an early pick to get excited about since... ever? Gold Coast need some good players who are ready for action, not just kids and cast offs.

You missed Fogarty kicking 5 against us this year?

The club rated keath below walker? no wonder he wants to leave

I like Fogarty but pick 12 isn't an early pick. Danger was pick 10 and much better.

It's a different hype picking up a highly rated youngster in the top 2 or 3. We got Sheed at 11 and the reaction was 'cool he looks like he'll be a good player'. We got Naitanui at 2 and the hype went into overdrive and hasn't stopped since.

I think we have only had a pick below 10 something like once or twice in 20 years

Then of course you look at carlton or GC
