Brad Ebert asks to be traded to Port

How is Gunston better than Ebert? He's played 14 games in 2 years, done bugger all in most of them bar 1 when he was the only one on the oval trying.

Gunston has better skills by foot. Both have decent marking skills. Gunston has the ability and size to play key position. Gunston is 2 years younger than Ebert and is therefore likely to play 40 more games than Ebert in his career

Gunston averaged 10 touches 5 marks at 1.6 goals per game with best of 5 goals.

Ebert averaged 13.6 touches per game 4 marks at 0.6 goals per game with a best of 4 goals.

Performing a similar role Gunston hurts you more on the scoreboard while Ebert does a bit more around the ground. In terms of output they are about even though its Gunston's 2nd season but its Ebert's 4th.

Ebert b. 1990 Gunston b.1991. That's not 2 years. And Gunston is already 60 games behind Ebert.

And compared at the same age Ebert almost doubles Gunston's possession stats. If not for that 5 goal game against a tanking Richmond Gunston's goals stats would be even sorrier.

Centrals have seen more of him than the crows but somehow he's magically better than Ebert?

Gunston is ridiculously overrated based on nothing.

Westcoast will not seek a player in any trade.

We are currently looking at 3 or 4 changes too our list with one of them being Ashton Hams. We will end up with 2 or 3 active picks in the National Draft, we will be interested in 28 and 33 for Ebert and 45.

That probably won't be on the cards for Port so I can see a straight swap for 28. Ultimately pick 28 will probably spell bad news for someone on our list at the moment as we will IMO use 45.

You are trading for Ebert the player not Ebert the forward. He's a midfielder who can push/ rotate forward. He played mostly as a hit up target and was best 22 for most of the year, if you get him for 28 you're getting him on the cheap.

WTF ????

I understand that but I also can't see Ebert saying no if Eagles set up a trade with the Crows. As you said, it's his preferred location but I am sure being in Adelaide alone will be good enough for him.

Anyways I hope we can sort out a fair deal. I think it's going to be a struggle with Port having all the power but who knows really. We probably won't find out until the last day of trade week.

His uncle or grand uncle is a Port Adelaide Magpies club legend, his cousin plays for Port. Why wouldn't he want to play for them and why in God's name would he play for the Crows.

It's like saying Brandon Matera wouldn't care if he played for Freo as long as he was playing in Perth.:o:confused:

Watch the Eagles verse Geelong game from earlier on in the year if you want an example of Eberts potential. Was brilliant for us.

He is very highly rated at WC, that doesnt happen for no reason. Some fans don't see it but Most of those are the impatient types that think they know better than the coaching staff.

Port will be very happy to have him.

Btw I personally hope he goes to Adelaide. If they do end up with pick 24 and a player for Gunston then I can see them putting that forward for Ebert. Obviously pick 24>28 so that would be our preferred trade.

If this happens then you run the risk of him going in the PSD.

It's just a very ordinary troll attempt.

Ignore it.

And yes as stated above all he needs to do is nominate for the PSD if we do a deal with the team[s?] before us in the draft.

Aint we second behind GWS???

thats what id be offering 28, if fair or not thats up to the teams but our first is off limits so the next best pick we have is 28

Yeh nah no troll attempt at all. WC has already said they will enter negotiations with both Adelaide clubs. So how is there no chance he would play for the crows? I understand it's a small chance but who knows what he will say if WC push for it.

His preference is Port Adelaide, he has already said that. Unless I have missed it somewhere he hasn't stated that he would refuse to go to Adelaide?? I understand his history but do you think if he got drafted by Adelaide he would be requesting a trade to Port? Possibly but I highly doubt it.

I just said I hope he goes to Adelaide so WC get a better deal.

Versus.

Seven just reporter west coast want pick 6, but port will not let go of the first round pick

It would be remiss of West Coast not to ask for pick 6, even though they know it is a waste of time really.

To the eagles supporters suggesting Ebert would want to go to the Crows, you should know that Brad is Port Adelaide fanatic and absolutely hates the Crows with a passion.

His dad played a truckload of games for Port and his uncle is a Port legend who still works at the club, and his cousin is playing there now.

If he wants to go to his and his families club then let him.

lol at pick 6. Like others have said, of course WC will ask for it. But it won't happen. If they are actually serious though..

PSD here we come!

Oh good. Cue a long protracted week of two clubs chest bulging before an independent mediator gets involved with 5 minutes to go on Friday and Collingwood step in with pick #373 for a three way trade that nets us Cameron Howat or something as well as Ebert.

How many games is a truckload? Craig Ebert barely made 100 didn't he?

Was over 100, almost 150 or 200?

Think he was only a few games away from Brad being a F/S for us. I think he played just under 150, or just under 200
