^ No love for Scooter? Easily best 22, more so than his brother.

I'm really keen for Koby to play this weekend. It's just a matter of who will miss out for him. Hopefully Ebert.

Scooter is ok but he needs to work on his kicking on the run. How many time did he get out of a pack or a hand pass and miss his targets. Nearly every time I see him.

scooter is contributing a lot more week to week than most of our other young midfielders. taking on some big roles and not being embarrassed. couldn't be happier with his progress.

as for ebert, i like the kid but my opinion is sliding. if he never played another game for west coast he would be remembered as a fairly average player who never stood out or made much of an impact on any game.

objectively speaking, he has made comparatively little contribution to our improvement this year and usually that would be a dangerous position for a 50+ gamer in a young, improving finals side. on the other hand, the selectors seem to be giving him every opportunity to prove himself and that's a fairly handy ally every day of the week.

if we are still having this conversation at the end of the season i'd be leaning towards trade bait.

I would think that PA would offer a very juicy carrot for Ebert. Fact is he can play. The upside for him on PA's list it huge. I would expect pick plus player for him. or just there first rounder that would be anywhere from 5-15.

Port are interested , I would think it will be a swap Ebert = Cassissi :footy: if it happens . Ebert takes over Port Captaincy

What gives you the impression that Port are interested? Just because of his name and their rebuild position?

Cassissi was an Eagles supporter I seem to recall, how old is he BTW?

I think a straight swap for Surjan is closer to the mark in what the players are worth, also Surjan fit our needs more, a tough small backman who can also play forward.

Shipping out the existing captain and replacing him with a new comer is a big call, Ebert doesn't have Judd status for instance. By making someone captain you'd want to ensure they are definately in your best 22 and have the support of the playing group.

stevens burns it up in wafl just as much as ebert would. i guess as human, we love the whole grass is greener on the other side. until we discover it isnt...then we look for someone else to fantasize about. better have a pick 30 and fantasize about that than real thing.

even so, eberts kicking pisses me off. but at same age it is no worse than priddis'.

So true that people want anything newer and younger, as these days everyone is a future Judd until proven otherwise rather than the other way around. Peoples imaginations take over.

That said however, Ebert just hasn't improved in three? years, He is too slow and he lacks balance (goes to ground so easily) so midfield is a no go imo....He's a good grab, but his lack of skill and decision making makes me hope he drops it so someone else can handle it. He just can't handle the speed of AFL. I get the feeling the coaching staff are fast running out of patience with him and Masten....Ebert was subbed v Collingwood, dropped the next week and was a sub against Adelaide last week. They obviously have taken note of his momentum changing slips, turnovers etc and are losing faith. I saw his WAFL game and he got a fait bit of ball but to me he didn't look like an AFL player that needed fitness or form to find, he looked like a WAFL player and that seems to be his level.

Koby Stevens WOULD be a better player to have in the team for sure....For starters he can stay on his feet, he's a very solid kick, he can physically push through a tackle (quick enough and strong enough), and he has a cooler/calmer brain under pressure. No brainer imo.

I'd trade Ebert without hesitation as his name, age and draft position will still get teams excited imo....He may improve, but not enough that we'd say "why did we trade him". His value now is as high as it will get so we should get something that has basic/solid skills and more speed/balance than a lawn bowls veteran.

Interesting about Surjan.
I heard Port had high hopes for him, possible leader (could be in their leadership at the moment), and then came the Motlop incident that left him giving Port an ultimatum (if you can believe everything that is written?)
His attitude seems quite bad at Port currently. I know that things aren't right with the club but seems to be a bit jaded, how his body language looks on the field IMO.

Port said in the past week ie Primus that they are interested in any SA kids who are available to come home . In regard to Cassissi he would be good depth to the squad although suffering a knee injury this year and good experience to have a round for the young group . Cassissi is 26 -27 and Ebert being a Captain was a bit far fetched i know but he would be good in a a leadership role in some form .

If Ebert wont make it , Cassissi would give us good depth in the next few years in return . DOM IS GOOD

Why would Cassisi want to go from being the captain of a club and a first choice player to a depth player at the Eagles?

I thought he may return home to finish his career in WA and give us a stronger midfield then Ebert would . Never realised he was 29 , the Italian heritage makes him look younger . Looks like he wouldn't be a good fit and Ebert will need to be traded for a pick which it sounds PA would do . But it wont be a good pick and I thought someone like Cassissi would help us quite a bit in the short term .

Maybe you can help us lure Nick Westhoff and Kelvin Moore to join family in SA.

Eagles get: Cassisi, Surjan
Lose: Ebert, 4th rounder, T.Notte

Port get: Nick Westhoff, Kelvin Moore, B.Ebert, 4th rounder
Lose: Cassisi, Surjan

Hawthorn get: T.Notte, 4th rounder
Lose: Lance Franklin

Richmond get: 4th rounder, Lance Franklin
Lose: Nick Westhoff, Kelvin Moore, 4th rounder

thoughts?

If you're going to come on our board and suggest ridiculous trades, at least make us the team that gets Buddy.

Actually you can add Jarrad Irons to West Coast and its a deal !

WE can then use his Dad to get funds from the Govt and screw every other club in the AFL .:D

I agree with alot of what you said. I just want to clarify that I wasn't trying to slam Ebert, I just hope he's the one to be outed for Stevens if necessary.

Here are my thoughts.
What are you on?

DO NOT WANT CASSISI OR SURJAN.

Both would be depth in areas of the ground we are well covered for. And Cassisi will be 29. Rather keep Ebert thanks.
