Player Watch Brayden Maynard

As you said that’s the nature of the beast, and most players understand that, hence why many turn their back on the extra $$ to remain if they want to be a one club player. There’s also a lot of benefits to being a one club player, particularly for big clubs like the pies.
I think that the only player we’ve actually lost to FA from memory was Thomas? And even then I’m skeptical about us actually wanting to retain him. I think Bucks was quite happy to see him out the door at the time.

I can't help but look at Thomas's move with hindsight and think it was a stroke of luck for us. I think it's forgotten what a super player he was at his peak. He was just never the same after his ankle injury. Carlton never got anywhere near his best. Great result all round

Shame we wasted the pick.

True.. if we had have taken Cripps instead of Freeman it would have been one of the greatest pieces of draft business ever
We won’t get a pick that high for Maynard. Hopefully he stays.

Yep. Unless you're a bottom 8 side, you just don't get the situation where we the pick is more valuable than the player you lose.

Blues gave him $750k a year when he was past his best.

Think we Offered $500k

I bumped into Daisy in the bank a while back - had very brief chat - Pies have a special place for him
All his real mates were there. Flag. Best years of his career. Carlton was like dropping into your great grandmas for scones and a shit coffee on the way home from Las Vegas

Even Oscar Allen was more convincing that he was gonna stay Brayden…
And no one believes Allen is going to stay.

Bruz has likely been told to tone down his 'Pie for life' rhetoric by his manager. It's hardly helpful to his manager who would & should be trying to get him the best deal.

I don't know why I just was thinking about this, but I just remembered Bruz getting 2 weeks for hitting Daniel Lloyd high in a marking contest. Yet Rory Lobb arrives late, punchess Mason Cox directly in the face but gets no suspension, why?

I'm not saying Bruz didn't deserve the suspension because I thought it warranted, but it's surprising that Lobb didn't even get a fine for it.

Because it was assessed as not being a reportable offence, presumably because it was seen as a legitimate attempt to punch the footy. Lobb was marginally late but it was an outstretched arm held out straight(for want of a better term). Bruz was a swinging arm. That's the chooklotto difference.

Head is sacrosanct, head is sacrosanct, oh wait it's a Collingwood player, no duty of care required, push on.

Missing Moore this week because he was pushed into a pack, AFL came down very hard on that...

the previous week

They’re very inconsistent and it’s hard to take them seriously
