It's really easy

Give us 3 names you want to replace Matho

This is a fairly basic position, as it doesn't just come down to who is best for the board, it comes down to who wants to be on the board & then finding the best person or people from there.

The question should not be who but what do we want in regards to experience in what areas for the board:

IMHO we need a mix of footy brains, people/culture, finance & business. You obviously won't get this in just one person, so it's about finding the right blend of independent board members who each bring something to the table.

No….Australian Federal Police (AFP) has launched a criminal investigation. They are so ed it’s not funny. With international repercussions as so many people were involved. 9 stood done so far, but the preliminary evidence is damning - heaps of internal emails (incl international counterparts) dozens of people knew about it & acted on it. Have a quick google it’s huge & *** disgraceful as it’s us they were ripping off.
Right you are. I wasn't aware that the AFP were now involved. I hope they cop their right whack. Pretty silly though that the government seem to have taken advice from a wolf on hen rearing..

Just a little on this.

Cook has expressed to the club that he would like to increase his stay from the original 3 years to 5 at a minimum.
He came to the club after the ‘external review’ took place, which in its findings decided that Lloyd and Liddle were doing a fantastic job, and it was only Teague that was at fault.. (absurd) and only 6 days before Voss was announced as coach. Once the decision making processes were all but done.
It will take time, unfortunately, for Cook to ultimately be able to make the changes and adjustments he wants. To call a for another review within the timeframe he’s been there so far, so soon upon the back of the last would of been impossible.
Happy that Cook is extending his tenure. Perhaps that shows his commitment to having the club at a stronger level

Austin I am happy to give more time to.
I feel he’s done a lot quite well so far, and I believe that he will be able to do a lot better when the club sorts itself out.
Having a very vocal and stubborn head coach, a previous list manager as head of the footy department, and the high up figures within the club still under the spell of his predecessor has somewhat limited his authority.
One could argue that this is on Austin for not being strong enough as a leader, but that would be very unfair, without understanding the handcuffs he’s had on him.
So far, his drafting has been conservative (not a criticism), selecting players I would describe as having high floors, but perhaps limited ceilings.

Trades have somewhat been similar, in terms of conservative

Needs to really go hard now to target known weaknesses, improving durability, speed and better footskills

And as for Voss’ assistants, well let’s not be to quick to judge them. As at the end of the day the head coach has the final call, and to put it politely, not all the assistants agree with their boss.
I agree, the buck always stops at the decision maker, but, you don't have to have people agreeing on a vision, to help deliver it. It's preferred though

Spot on, the "right person", not so much the best person

A lot of people aren’t aware that PWC is the AFP’s preferred auditing firm.

The fact Brian Cook himself wants to extend his stay at the club to 5 years at a minimum, makes me really happy and confident that he will turn this club around for the better!!!
Who wouldn't want to stay in a high paid role where everyone around you white ants and you can trade of past glories at more functional clubs

He’s still in Melbourne and at the Club tonight along with other Board Members & past players.

Don't worry about the lack of ball movement, or Harry's kicking, who the **** organises social events on a Monday?

Got headache trying to understand what the hell this means
No matter what happens over the 3 or 5 years, he'll leave with his reputation having no damage done to it. Regardless of if he's at his still at his absolute peak or just riding off into the sunset

You need complete buy in, though. At the very least, if you don't agree with it, you best be bloody good at faking it and don't let others see you disagree with it.

The last thing you need (which we quite clearly have) is any confusion. You need every leader to buy in to it both off and on field.

I am all for people assistants challenging the coach, but don't do it game day or in front of the players.

They are proper ****ed- being reported that 52 people received & acted upon the information & they were actually marketing it to their clients. When they can prove that many people knew the hammer is coming down.
52 proven including partners/heads of the firm means 100’s of people knew.
Sayers has to step down, there is no way that he is giving the club anywhere near the attention it needs, especially now.
Has to happen quickly too, he’s in no position to be making club decisions that can impact us for years to come.

People can still lead, or have great buy in, even though it's their option 2, rather than their preferred option 1

When you have a group, 7-10 coaches, 45 players, you won't have everyone agreeing with the method

"You don't need the best coach, players, gameplan, but you need total buy in"

Now, that's great culture

Cook still has no presence or energy. He’s a very questionable appointment now. He’s made zero change to any key role. So what if the review was done? He should have said “No Llpyd goes” straight away. And has had plenty of time since to get there.

So we are back to the assistants throwing their boss under the bus routine to save themselves are we? They should quit then. Or have impact. Present a rational argument. Tell him they can’t support his direction any more. Not just leak that they don’t agree.

Sounds like assistants are going into survival mode and trying to save their own jobs by turning on the main guy, very Carlton of them, let's hope the football department isn't falling for it, everybody needs to be held accountable including them.
