Brent Macaffer out in the cold

I think its p*ss poor that we bring in Clarke and that then forces out 2 premiership players. I also think its poor that we offer Caf a contract and then withdraw it. Personally would rather keep Caf and Tooves and not recruited Clarke.
I don't think Clarke would be on big money and he wouldn't be the cause of this.

Only heard the last part but McConville (mgr) is sticking to the line that Caff has been left in the lurch and offer has been withdrawn by the club.
He would say that since it is his fault. We made an offer, the manager came back with demands and we said no. I heard the manager on SEN a few days ago and he sounded like he'd f'd up to me.

Caff can kick goals in a big game when others struggle. He is a strong third option that we so desperately need in the games that count. We invested in him going to Arizona, how could he possibly now be so undervalued. We must find a way to hang on to him.

That's what I don't understand, why invest in him going over there only to end up losing him at the end of the year?

Theres a thread on our board saying the rumour is Graham+draft pick for Macaffer.
I just don't see Collingwod being interested in that at all.

Our ruck stocks aren't too bad, and Graham would walk in as the number 3 ruck at the club, and he doesn't look like he'll ever have the ability to be a number 1 ruck, where as we have Witts (210cm 19yo giant) and Ceglar (part of the Krak deal last year) who will both get senior game time this year.

I just don't see Collingwood being interested in a back up ruck from another club.

You guys would never trade for Graham. The pies actually know when a player is a dud.

I'm a big fan of MaCaffer. What trade would it take for us to steal him?

We have picks 15, 55, 73, 91.

We wouldn't trade our Compo, or first rounder. So I would think it would be our third rounder + a player.

What do you fellas think?

I think pick 55 would be no where near what the Pies are asking for, and we don't really want players anyway, as we are trying to relieve salary cap pressure, and adding any other plays won't help that.

I think if you guys want Caff, you will need to trade a player to another club for a second round pick, then trade that onto us.

Where'd your second rounder go? I reckon we'd take that for Macaffer. Third rounder isn't really that enticing unless the player Richmond offer is decent.

Can't see us taking another player if we offload Macaffer, we'll be keen to get a semi-decent pick.

Macaffer's only getting pushed out because of the clamp on for spots and the lack of room in the cap. Trading him only to bring in another player doens't really alleviate the strain.

He is worth a second rounder.

i hope it is true gus for mccaff, Id say gus is about same is wood fwiw...Im not sure how collingwood would see him fitting in, that said the two fellas meantioned before are only teenagers, a 23yo ruckman will allow them to be kept developing in VFL, there aint too many teenage ruckman making an impact at AFL level

We won't be taking Graham even if you'll pay his wages.

But thanks for the lulz, needed it after a tough day on the punt.

Mate, it's fantasy land if you think we are taking Graham- even if you pay his contact for a lifetime.

IMO, we will most likely resign and retain Macaffer.

Oh Graham is not the same as Wood- Wood is much better.

This is true but with Jolly and Wood we aren't in that position. With two mature ruckman and two very promising developing ruckman Graham really isn't a need for us.

Medium sized, hard tackling, strong marking forwards are however an issue for us.

The fact conjecture over Macaffers future is based largely on salary cap pressure; and as Graham is not going to relieve that pressure, makes this rumour seem very unbelievable.

Agree for everything but that. Both are duds.
