Did anyone hear Royal's interview prior to the Crows/Roos game tonight?

It was interesting on a couple of points

Firstly he is still dirty on the Bulldogs not appointing an "old boy", himself, as coach over Peter Rohde

Secondly he dismissed trying to get the Crows job coz Craig already has the gig, something along the lines of common knowledge in Melbourne.

After what Trigg has been saying, left right & centre, he wouldn't be happy hearing this.

common knowledge, or a common excuse?

he might be right, or he might be making excuses for why the best candidate - aka brian royal - wouldn't get the job. the problem could of course be a little closer to home than that.

Sam Kekavich said the exact same thing about Craig on WLF last night. So it would seem that it is indeed common knowledge who has the Adelaide coaching job, oh except the supporters.

I hope for your sakes that last nights and last weeks games make them think again, and pay him out of the non contract he has signed and get you guys a proper coach.

Your right, I couldn't watch the football I have had to experience over the last 3 weeks, for another 3 years :(

I saw you guys live last week, and it was awful to watch.I usually love watching you guys, I have a soft spot for Doc.What we saw was an embarassment, but what was worse has been the rubbish emulating from your CEO this week. A real shame.Don't you wish they would be honest with the members, they forget you are the ones going to and supporting the team. They will look awfully silly if they are playing to half full stadiums at home becuase of their ineptitude in picking a coach. The corporates support winners and hate empt stadiums, they may learn the hard way.

well unless your a board member, how the hell would you know whether what Trigg says is true or not??

for all you know they COULD be being honest with us...

and last nights rubbish wasnt all Craigs doing...in the second qtr the Kangas didnt even look like getting it past Half Back! that was becuase of all the players they had in our half of the ground...

both teams tried hard to get numbers around the ball, and were trying to run the ball, rather than just bomb it! wasnt a pretty game, was actually quite comedic, but sad at the same time! :p

It would appear that Eade disagrees;)

Eade still wants to be in charge
July 31, 2004

COACHING hopeful Rodney Eade today reiterated his desire to be in charge of his own AFL side.

Eade has been interviewed for the vacant Adelaide, Richmond and Hawthorn jobs and also as an assistant role under Mick Malthouse at Collingwood.

But Eade, who coached Sydney from 1996-2002, today said taking charge of his own side was his main objective for 2005.

"My main passion is coaching and that's what I want to do again," he told radio Triple M.

"The conversation with Collingwood was out of the blue, a bit left-field I suppose, but I'll just have to have a think about it over the next week or so."

Eade said he expected to hear back from Richmond and Hawthorn officials in the next week.

He said he would also go to Adelaide for another interview, as he believed caretaker coach Neil Craig was no certainty to coach the Crows next season.

"I met with Adelaide last week and I'm going back in the next two weeks," he said.

"They were quite strong in saying it wasn't a done deal (with Craig) and the talks were encouraging.

"If I had any hint that it wasn't encouraging, I wouldn't go on but I want to go on."
