Hi folks,

I have flights booked to head to Brisbane for round 10. Does anyone have any recommendations for accommodation? There's around 6 of us going.

Thanks!

Been a while since a footy trip to Brisy.

I stayed at Diana Plaza hotel near the Gabba which was good at the time but would been around 2004 and we were smashed by the Lions.

Depends on what you're after. If you're looking for apartment style there are a couple I've stayed at for business that are reasonably priced and quite convenient. I'd suggest getting something between the Gabba and South Bank (where there are some good restaurants, night life, etc.).

This one is mid way between the two and in walking distance of both...

The Merton apartments on Herschel street are a bit further away, but still pretty convenient...

I'm pretty sure you can get multi-room apartments that would probably be quite cost effective.

Finally after years of living 1km away from the Gabba I will get to enjoy the walk to the ground to watch my beloved mighty hawks play there!!!!

Having been to the Gabba a couple of times over recent years, we found that there was a free bus service to/from the ground and the City.
Made staying in the city most convenient.
Bris locals may be able to confirm if this arrangement still exists.
On one occasion i recall walking most of the way to the Gabba (foot bridge over the river), pub crawl fashion, and then jumping on a bus for the last k or so, didn't seem far.

Depends whether you just want to stay around the Gabba or also go out after?
If you're going out I'd stay down near the Story Bridge Hotel which is a hop step and jump to both the GABBA and the Valley.

I second the Quest at the Gabba. It's a pretty new hotel. Good pricing. Location is spot on. Chalk Hotel is about to close but there are far better venues around. The Pineapple always has a good AFL presence.

Yeah Limes Hotel in Fortitude Valley. There are plenty of good places and areas to stay if you are prepared for a decent walk or want to bother with public transport/taxis.

Personally, I'd have a look and see what's at West End. It's a super cool area with heaps of places to eat and drink. 3km walk or half an hour on foot to the Gabba.

Yep same here!

Quest Apartments at the Gabba bro .. Just over the road, Chalk Hotel is only a short walk .. Decent pub
Lots of great pubs around the area, but if you're into AFL then the Piney is where you want to go.

Enjoy Brisbane, it's a beautiful city.

Lived in QLD from the start of 2011 until now. I'll be moving back to Victoria (Geelong most likely) next year.

Awesome.
