I'm still a fan but I think I'm in the minority around here.
I would certainly keep him ....he is a good player just hacked down with injury. Next year we may face times when we want a guy with some AFL experience to play a few games.
Not great but serviceable at AFL level.
With Dunn and Webster - you actually could have made the debate quite easily to delist him.
However now with such a cleanout ...Browne would be replced by a kid at pick 80 something and I think he is far better value than that.
We need to sit down with the medicos and see if they believe his body is capable of AFL football. If the answer is no - then and only then we move on. If he is given a better than 50% chance of coming up - we make it a 1 year deal and do a Dunn and see if he can earn his place on the list.
Browne is hard at the ball and a pretty courageous footy player ...I certainly think in a year when we are filling the list with people who will certainly not play at all - we can carry a guy who may.
He's already had 7 years, for a total of 27 matches and his highest season total of 14 was in 2004. He averages 10 possessions a game. I'd get rid of him, but I certainly won't be holding my breath for him to go.
That's the main point. If he had injury concerns but looked good at WAFL level after 3 or 4 seasons he'd possibly be worth another year. But he's done nothing to warrant an 8th AFL season.

I would rather pick up a kid at 72 and hope that we uncover a gem, cos Browney might he the best bloke in the world, but he's a shit AFL player.

Our picks to replace Webster, Carrs (1 good / 1 evil), Bell, Black, Warnock, MJ II and Farmer.
) - but it's too horrid to contemplate so I am in denial.

OK, you're right (as usual...) - but it's too horrid to contemplate so I am in denial.
I still think that if you've been on the list for 7 years, and you're averaging 10 possessions per game then the neon sign is flashing "Below Average Player" very brightly and most maniacally.
Maybe someone else's retreads late in the draft, or in the PSD might be worth the punt. We already know what we get with Browney and it's not a lot. Sadly.![]()
Poor mans Jaxon Crabb , i have thought for a long time.
Give Smithy a go.
And Moo our picks should go something like 3.21.24.37.53.56. 61.64.66.67.68.69.![]()
Well, I've said it straight after he was delisted that he might be a good value for depth if taken in PSD or a very late pick in ND. He's not a bad player.I agree. There's gotta be someone out there who is AFL ready and offers more than Browne. Armstrong?
