Brownlow Brownlow 2023 LIVE Now - Congrats Lachie Neale!

Neither was Cripps last year it very rarely is the most dominant one that wins
It's about standing out in a side that doesn't have very many standout players. That's why Neale, Bont, Daicos polled so well this year. The list makeup of those teams are so balanced, those three blokes really do standout in those sides. Cripps did last year as well.

It's remarkable when players can still get 25+ with teammates in the late teens/early 20's though. Petracca, Butters, Gulden all have done exceptionally well to poll so heavily with teammates stealing votes.

The 3-2-1 system is flawed but it's not the end of the world. Neale is a rightful winner, as was Cripps, as was whoever won it the year prior to Cripps. Was Neale or Cripps the out and out best player this year/last? No, but they were both absolutely elite.

Neale realising like Rob Harvey winning a Brownlow is a blast, but a second is a bit of a chore
It's funny because winning a second one you feel you don't deserve would automatically make you question whether you deserved the first one lol.

Begs the question, who is the worst dual brownlow medalist ever?

I think we know, but generosity of spirit stops one from answering.

I like the tradition of umpires judging the award and I think disposals is an overrated quick and easy metric that doesnt always pass the eye test. Maybe AFL should come up with a stats award each season to keep people happy. Can say 1 goal == 5 disposals and most disposals in a game wins BOG.

I won't deny there were howlers, and I think aflca is the better award for best player in a year, but I just don't think the Brownlow voting process should be changed.

I mean whoever it is, it's a pretty decent list of names to be the worst of. Not sure why being the worst on a list that includes 4? AFL legends is something to be ashamed of...

Just having a laugh.
