Brownlow bets: How'd you go?

I bet big this year lol!

had $2000 on bruce at 2.50 for most dees votes, he was robbed in about 5 games! but i had 1000 on Johnstone as cover at $3.75 and 800 Mclean $4.75 and thank god Johnstone covered me only a $50 loss on thisbet as he got up with 10 votes just edging Neitz on 9 which would of been a disaster if he won for me, wuda lost like 3800!

2/4 of my "safe sure bets" went down sensationally,
$500 Fevola most votes at carlton at $1.60 was robbed there by 1 vote after looking good early, scotland got lucky votes that fev missed.
$500 Judd most votes at Eagles at $1.50 also robbed by Kerr, i shuda just gone head to head vs cousins was payin about same, stupid error by me to discount kerr as a threat.

I won on Mitchell $500 at 1.55 never in doubt and Edwards $1000 at 1.55 but so made a slight profit here as i had a lot more on edwards than the other 3.

Hird $100 most votes dons at $6- never a chance unfortunately.
Hall $100 over Burgoyne at 2.15, looked good early but fell away quickly.

all up my outlay was 6500, return 6075= $425 LOSS

i shuda been up but with Fevola and Judd costing me badly and Bruce ROBBED .. If those 3 won my return would of been around 8500-8700 meaning a $2000 profit, but i guess a $425 loss isnt a great success but hey i wanted to bet big so i face a small loss unfortunately

Wasn't he though. At one stage I had him down for about 9 votes and he had 0!

I only lost $50 on him though.

The winning bets:

Was on Scotland most Carlton votes ($3), Scotland more than Fevola ($6!) (my biggest bet, very very happy), Edwards most Adelaide votes ($5)

The losing bets:

Brisbane Any Other Player ($26), Carlton Any Other Player ($12)

Up a lot, just have to follow two Brownlow rules. The umpires hate Fev, and they LOVE Edwards

mmmmmmmmm i dunno if they LOVE Edwards, i had him pencilled in for like 16-18 votes and he only got 12...

ive woken up still not believing Bruce didnt poll all those votes early, but kinda relieved Neitz didnt top us as that would of been crying time for me, like 1 vote more and my return on Johnstone would of been about $1800 not $3750, at least this way my bet for Bruce only lost me $50 as i had 2000 bruce, 1000 johnstone, 800 Mclean.

but how Fev didnt get more votes in an 80 goal seaason is puzzling, and if the umps love Anyone its Kerr!

Spewin!
Had 10 on the West-Goodes quinella. Could have won 525 bucks.
Maybe someone can help me out. I've also got a multi going. it included Ben Johnson getting most votes for the Pies. He finished equal first. Is that bet still alive?

Bet is still alive but you half the divendend of that leg. So if Johnson was paying $5 you get $2.50 and need to calculate it again.

How's my form.

Had one multi going for $13,667 - cost me $15 and missed on Brent Harvey. Next time i see him look out. If i had taken N. Thompson instead i would of picked up $8850.

I had the following multi bet for each player to get most votes for their respective teams.
T. Edwards - $4.75
J. Brown - $2.75
S. Mitchell - $1.47
H. Scotland - $3.25
S. West - $1.40
A. Goodes - $1.03
T. Johnstone - $3.75
B. Harvey - $2.70

If you dont want your Quinella ticket mail it to me.................

PM me for my address

Your Ben Johnson bet is alive, but his odds halved because he tied with Swan, who I had $10 on at $3.35

Cheers.

The reason it didn't let you do it is coz it doesn't like mixing and matching from different groups. As in, you picked most votes, then a top five and an outright winner. They don't believe its fair to be able to do multis with different goals.

So you would have to have done all top 5, or all winning the club or all an outright winner. It's frustrating, i learnt the hard way as well..

Ok, thanks for explaining that mate. I can understand why they wont allow it as it makes for way more attractive odds that I otherwise should've gotten.

Was my first attempt on a multi - now I understand it a bit more watch out TAB

I had $50 on the goodes-kerr quinella at 30-1 and got shafted on the last vote of the nite when west scored one vote in the last round!!!! Spewin

I actually put a bet on Goodes to win... but the person who put it on for me stuffed it up and instead of betting on him winning (paying approximately $2.70) they put a bet on for Goodes to finish in the top 5 (obviously paying a lot less at $1.18)... anyhow i put on a massive amount of $6 (risk/reward) which paid me a total of $7.08. Thats profit on that... you do the math... think of it in percentage terms thats a massive 18%.. in one day... so...

How did you feel when you were hittin the TAB up for you $1.08?

$15 on buckley to win pies - got robbed in early agmes, which cost me
$15 on cox to win his group (lost to lade) - cox didnt get a vote against richmond i think in round 3 where he was best on ground and lade also got many votes where he shouldnt have
$10 on power to win bris - he should have pollled more votes

not a good night

I requested that my winnings be broken down as follows:

1. 1x20c,
2. 1x10c, and
3. the rest in 5c

$15 on cox to win his group (lost to lade) - cox didnt get a vote against richmond i think in round 3 where he was best on ground and lade also got many votes where he shouldnt have

i thought this was a good thing at nice odds, guess i underrated lade and thought the cornes boys would of got more than they did

I put 3 $5 multi's on, i lost on all 3 but the closest one was....

Scott Lucas - Most Essendon Votes
Matthew Pavlich - Most Fremantle Votes
Nathan Thompson - Most Kangaroos Votes
Matthew Richardson - Most Richmond Votes
Adam Goodes - Most Sydney Votes
Scott West - Most Western Bulldog Votes

Lucas, Pavlich, Thompson, Goodes and West got up but Richo failed by 1 vote after polling 10 votes and Simmonds polling 11 :( so that vote cost me $245
