Starting a team from scratch what you prefer in your team. A Coleman or a Brownlow medalist?

Brownlow, presuming it's in the engine room - the midfield. Would take Ablett/Judd over Franklin/JR to build a club around.

Scott Cummings won a coleman.

Scott Cummings kicked 95 goals that year. You can fluke a Brownlow, because it's subjective. You can't fluke a Coleman.

It depends.

Do you mean that you have a Brownlow/Coleman Medallist in your team or the player in question will win the Brownlow/Coleman Medal for your team that year?

If the former, then Brownlow.
If the latter, then Coleman.

Its like saying the best midfielder for the year vs the best forward for the year.

Tough question really.

Very hard, I have always rated a top notch big key forward over any other player on the ground, it's by far the hardest position to play in football. But having a guy like G Ablett guiding you in the middle in your first few years is invaluable, so I'd take the Brownlow winner.

Judd or Fev. Real tough choice.

Buddy or Cooney. Two can play that game.

Depends on who the Coleman medal winner is and who the Brownlow medal winner is. For example, if it was Jack Riewoldt or Benda Fevola then you would take the Brownlow medal winner. However if it was Buddy Franklin, you would take the Coleman medal winner.

Coleman Medallist, any day of the week.

Midfielders (as the Brownlow is a midfielders medal) are a dime a dozen, while genuine Coleman contenders come around once every 3 years or so.

Hmm I reckon a player is more likely to win multiple Colemans than multiple Brownlow's. A Brownlow almost always means a gun midfielder while a Coleman almost always means a gun KPF. If you had a really good midfield you'd take the Coleman as he could utilise the delivery that your side is able to produce. But if they were struggling to get it into the 50, you'd want a Brownlow quality midfield to step in and take charge.
