Right so he's in his 3rd year now, how much longer do we go until we can stop making excuses for him?

I have kept my mouth shut, but couldn't any longer when at 8 minutes to go, he signals to slow down and play stop and start possession footy. Then we turn it over and they goal.

I do not understand the mental toughness of our club, and I question whether or not some players are mentally tough.

Who's out there running their guts out, breaking lines, taking the game on? By contrast, Murph is doing a good job and is about one of the only young ones to put his hand up.

So, my question is, how much longer do we wait before we can really see what Bryce Gibbs can do?

I like him coming off the half back flank as he did against the Cats. For mine he does a lot of the hard in and under stuff that many miss. Perhaps I'm looking through rose colored glasses but I see him as a future Captain.

It was good that Gibbs tried to show some leadership and initiative by denying the Pies the ball for a while, it worked as we made a bit of a run ourselves, get off his back!!!

I'm not on his back. There's just a massive difference between him and Murphy, and I'm wondering when he will actually become this massive player we have expectedd he will. Or are we just expecting too much?

It is the coaches who are instructing the players to make this play.

He was awarded BOG by both coaches last week against the best side in the comp.

Save your rant for after the game...

He has already, just a different type to Murph and playing a different, more mature and more difficult role at the moment.:thumbsu:

is it not his 4th year?

It would be great if AndyWalkers girl would return to keeping her mouth shut. This is the worst thread that i think i have ever read. Please think before you write crap.

To lose by nearly 10 goals to our Arch rival is not just a loss mate! It is a thrashing, imagine if Carlton had beaten Collingwood by 10 goals!!

No wonder this board is sometimes a joke, you're accusing me of over-reacting yet here you are doing the same thing...

Much prefer Gibbs playing attacking footy from the centre, and going back to have a rest, dont like him at HBF all the time.

I'll go back to having my time away from this board, because it's clearly gone very, very badly down hill.

Hooroo. Should go back up hill after you leave. :thumbsu:

When they changed up to possession play in the second quarter, we stopped Collingwood's run and kicked two to work back into the game. Clearly a practiced move - Ratts has said he wanted to control the ball more - and one worth trying again.

You are spot on when people like yourself get on here start crap threads.
I enjoy reading Big Footy and don't often respond but when you bag Gibbs before half time when he was great last week it shows your lack of football knowledge. Please have your time away so i can read opinions of people that know a bit about the game.

Nothing wrong with Gibbs.Look at the tackle count, they are a good side who have played consiistent finals for the last couple of years. We are a work in progress and have only played in one final in 10 years!! To many Carlton supporters have too high expectations.

Will will finish bw 7 to 12 depending on injuries, simple as that!

Was pretty much sublime today - backed up a BOG performance last week with some brilliant play this week - cannot ask for anything more.

Agree with AWG. Lacked intensity early on, probably more the coaches fault not putting him in the middle though. Those 31 possessions mean very little. Towards the end of the 3rd quarter he came off the backline and kicked long to Pies players, ball came back with interest and 2 goals were scored as a result. And don't anyone who didn't actually see the game argue with that. He certainly wasn't alone in this regard, but we all know he can use the footy and if he is not going to win the hard ball like Murph or Judd, the expectation is that he needs to be better than that. Maybe a little harsh, but this guy could be anything if he improves in a few areas.

DISGRACEFUL THREAD

MORE PLAYERS LIKE GIBBS WERE NEEDED TODAY, we left it to Muprhy, Judd and Gibbs AGAIN to get us back into the game...not good enough from the rest of the midfield group.

However, Kreuzer should've never been allowed to ruck against Jolly. The kid is miles off this guy, it should've been Jacobs V Jolly and Kreuzer V Frazer no excuse ratts and this didn't help us in the center clearences.

I'LL agree Gibbs should've been moved into the center earlier but this is the coaches fault.

Again in regards to his disposal ppl in here have been having a crack it, look at murphy and Judd before you open your mouth. EVERYONE had poor disposal today...why? NO FORWARD STRUCTURE. Poor sentanta was doing it all on his own, unfortunately we got it wrong by not selecting Waite.

And was the instigator in our 3rd quarter comeback. Why do supporters look for scapegoats everytime we have a loss? The reality is we are going to lose games every now & then.

Gave us great run when moved to the centre in the 3rd.

Things like holding up the football are done on instruction - when he did we were getting paid, and Ratts has said he wants tempo football to stop these blow outs

So because the majority of us disagree with you, the board itself has gone downhill?

Pull your head in. Gibbs was fine, if not good.
