Nobody who was watched the last month could possibly be surprised if he were dropped. I called it a fortnight ago.... needs a massive kick up the arse.

Could be the turning point of a career... and a club.

I the thought the team wasn't named until tomorrow.

In fact the official word from the club is the team will be announced tomorrow at 5pm.

No doubt, but a post on the main board references an announcement on 3AW. Warnock seems a pretty good thing according to a number of media sources...maybe the club are using the media to send a few messages this week. Equally could be a huge crock. Find out tomorrow I suppose.

Did anyone else hear them mention Gibbs on 3AW?

No idea, but I did state 'if true' in the OP.
It's not the most unlikely scenario given his past month of footy, so worthy of discussion.
Not disagreeing with you; he looks to coast a lot of the time.

You see the way Barlow went about his footy - Bryce doesn't ever seem to look exhausted; always looks like he could've done a bit more.

Well Hotcox knowing your 'record' on other forums i wont trust your word, but it would be a mixture of the 2 sources i got, so i woldnt be surpised at all.

I have got a hell of alot right (Ie Cloke's delisting, Dew coming out of retirement, Walker's return in round 10) and not many wrong in my time

A good call if so, Carlton need to put their stamp on the team and the players. Carlton always ment a hard, tough brand of football, the sort of footy that wins premierships and that has changed. It's time to go back to selecting the toughest players, the ones who follow the style of play the coaches want. Not just the prettiest and most skillful player.

Gibbs hasn't had the best year but the way people go at him here I find a bit much.

Could he do more? Yeah, probably. Does Barlow run until he pukes? Hardley, and is really a ridiculous comparison.

Is Gibbs injured? Who knows. IF he is it might explain some of his form.

I'm sure someone from "the inner sanctum" may well shoot this down, but I wonder if Gibbs protracted contract negotiation has distracted him. No doubt he, and his management mst have been holding out for more, either years or money. It took 2 months. Surely that must have had some sort of effect. Remember this was his first 'new' contract. He merely signed an extension last time.

So in the first instance the club not bowing might have taken him back a bit, but once he got what he wanted, maybe he is now feeling the pressure to "earn what he is worth".

Whatever it is I have little doubt he will come out the other end a much better player.

Unless he is injured there is exactly zero chance of the MC dropping him for what is really an elimination final. Even at half rat power Gibbs is a better option than the next in line.

To be honest, I would not have an issue with it. If he was any other player he'd be playing in the 2's, so just because he is 'Bryce Gibbs' should not give him a free pass to get away with his deplorable performances of late. Pull on a Bullants jumper, put in, and get your head out of your backside Bryce. Right now he's running at 30% at most and it's just not good enough.

Mind you, he's not the only one and there's a whole host of others. But he's probably in the worst form out of the bunch, considering what he is capable of.

This is just my opinion and I don't expect many to agree with me. But that's just the way I see it.

it won't Hurt Gibbs to do it the hard way. Many of our players were never forced to earn a game and come up through the VFL, now might be time, be good to see him come back with some intent and get back on the right path and begin to live up to expectation.

If we are serious, we need to send the message that you need to be playing the best you can, not just playing well.

Ratts might be getting a bit like the rest of us and getting fed up with blokes who don't go hard at the ball/man and who pull out of physical contact like Gibbs has been doing.

For christs sake man give it a rest
You Parrot on like a friggen broken record ..yes we know you think Gibbs should be dropped ..you don't need to repeat it over and over ..you won't make anyone agree with you through repetition ..in fact you are just plain annoying ...especially as you obviously have no idea .

Got no issues with it if it is true.

Gibbs is no different to any other player on the list. He will be given a game if his form deserves it.

And over the past few weeks, his form has been anything but worthy of senior selection.

He has been very poor - lazy and his skills have dropped off enormously.

Whether that's due to injury or otherwise should be largely irrelevant.

Let him go to the reserves and realize that his spot in the 22 each week is not a guarrantee and he has to work just as hard as everyine else on the list to retain their spot.

I called for it earlier in the season when I believed his effort was well below par and that bad habit seems to have returned.

Dropping Dal Santo did the Saints no harm at all.

If he is dropped it's all about how he responds. Let's hope he extracts the digit and comes back a better player for it.

The easy thing to do in that situation is spit the dummy but let's hope he works hard to retain his spot in the 22 where he should be.

If its Gibbs, Joseph and Jacobs this week, which i will believe it when i see it, next week will have to Murphy, Jamo and carrots next in the firing line,if their present form continues. It will only make our club stronger.

I have to laugh at some of the comments on the main board about how Bryce will be traded back to Adelaide or to GC. Christ, the boy has a few bad games and they are getting rid of him. Some people are just so stupid!
Yeah, he's been down the past few weeks, so has most the of team.
Let's don't forget a few weeks ago Bryce had a more than 40 possession game.
I'll wait until the team is released at 5pm today. If Bryce has been dropped, I am guessing a couple of others will be too!

It makes me sick how Carrazzo never gets dropped. Gibbsy needs to put in more of a hungry effort, but jeez, Carrots should have been dropped 10x this year.
