It's not ideal that between 12-16 you haven't played finals but I don't think Buckley ever has lost the players. I think they lack KPP and some polish but it's not panic stations. They played in a prelim in his 1st year, not bad for players who didn't want to play under him hey?
You may be right about he has to go, but don't make shit up to suit your agenda.

He made a prelim in 12, and finals in 13. Missed 14,15,16. Its really not as catastrophic as people are making it out to be. As mentioned previously, we aren't getting belted this year either. It's not ideal that between 12-16 you haven't played finals but I don't think Buckley ever has lost the players. There you go. It's not great, and they've played some bad footy, I've also been really critical of them, but last night was brilliant. They showed plenty. He made a prelim in 12, and finals in 13. Bollocks. Nowhere near good enough this year.Probably safe for another week. Either way tonight proves the cattle are good enough when they're at their best.
If only the pies played the Cats 22 times a year. Bucks would have a 10 year deal.I think that is being very generous. His winning % has got worse each year he has been in charge and this year it stands even lower at 33%. There's no indication that he is turning it round. I think the worst we can say is that he's not a good coach.
In saying that, When has Buckley been given the Injury out card, Never!! Buckley has had the most injuries and the most ACL's to his playing list out of any coach in the last 6 years. **** it, whoever is on the field that is it, its your best side, injuries is no excuse, hawthorn were at their best and the pies pumped them in the end and Buckley showed Clarkson his arse. That's how it is..,.In saying he also showed Scott and Longmire their arse as-well this season, and if you go back the last 6 years he has shown up Scott and Longmire consistently. Structurally the pies are acouple players away from dominating, when they get their shit together, hopefully Buckley's grin will be the biggest FUVK YOU ALL in the history of footy.Hawthorns side was ravaged with injury in fact Box Hill at there strongest would have looked better on paper.

Yeah nah.Of course Buckley has been able to use the injury card he wouldn't have a job other wise. Hawthorns side was savaged by injury and they were poor before that anyway.
Yeah nah.
Buckley had made finals in his first two seasons of coaching then they went down the rebuild path at the end of 2013. He has now gotten his list to where he wants. During those finals years, he had Premiership players showing their age and suffering long injuries. The club continued to be ravaged by injuries during the 14 and 15 seasons too which gave him a bit of a reprieve and 2017 was to be his go with his own side.
So the thread should be locked 'after' you've had another say?Surely this thread could just be locked until a decision is made one way or another? There is absolutely nothing gained from the constant back and forth that has been going on.
The fact is the Pies under Bucks have been a pretty average team - not great, but also not horrible. We have shown that our best is competitive and can beat anybody, but we don't do it consistently enough, either over 4 quarters, or stringing weeks-to-months together at a time. That this continues and that we haven't improved is a big problem, but there are a heap of factors involved, not primarily Bucks IMO... but, as coach, the blame will fall to him at the end of the day.
He is contracted to the end of the year - no reason currently why that would be extended, and could go anywhere between the bye and the end of the year - but I don't see why so many people on the main board are particularly interested?
This isn't the Premier League - nothing ever goes to plan, especially not this season when we're having one upset after the other.Speaking with Collingwood supporters before the game they were all saying they had to flog Hawthorn with their injuries. Given that they have struggled for form all year to then be decimated they were never going to win.
All Malthouse trained coaches should be kept in a room and locked up so they can;t do any more harm - Buckley, Eade, McKenna, Neeld, Watters, BScott etc. all have deficiencies and have never tasted success. Scott has gotten close but realistically, he was never going to go all the way.
Yeah, but that was after Clarko rehabilitated him...To be fair, that Luke Beveridge guy goes ok!

Yeah that's probably fair. Coaches would know the business they are in. Still sometimes it seems unjust.Oh, rubbish. If there is attitude of 'sack the coach', it's because clubs have often ruthlessly sacked coaches in the past. Reporters and fans pick up on this and speculation follows. Football is a cutthroat game and everyone knows this, including the highly paid coach.
Also, reporters get sacked all the time (or never rise to the top anyway).

Collingwood pulled off a 10 goal turn around last night, going from 43 points down to winning by 18 points. That's a mammoth achievement, irrespective of who the opposition is.*
*Unless it's Richmond.
Agreed but it's not that surreal.Should never have got to that lets be honest.

Hawks have beaten the Dees this season. The Dees have beaten the Crows. It happens.
