How would you feel if Buckley went to the Eagles as an assistant coach?

From all reports it's a fast increasing possibility.

i would prefer bucks to be an assitant at another club, and learn the trade away from us and then become our coach.

It didnt help tony shaw coming straight to us as a coach and we all no it ddint help us either.

As long as its just assitant its all cool, teh senior position with us will be his soon enough.

N.B where did you hear about it anyway?

Yeah, I heard about this. I know Bucks has stated his intentions in the past about becoming a senior coach, and this kind of a job would be a great place to start. I suppose the question remains as to whether he wants to do it straight away. Right now he seems to be fairly comfortable in his media role, and on top of that he might want a bit of a break from the club environment. We'll just have to wait and see what the man himself has to say on the situation.

I want them to take Voss, that at least takes him out of QLD (no more Vossy on Ch10 news! *puts head up* thank you....). & as soon as Voss gets a coaching job, the less that we have to hear his voice on the commentry.....:p
I'd rather Bucks not coach them but from what I've heard, Voss sounds like he's the front runner....

Bucks will have to do his apprenticeship somewhere and the Eagles would not be the worst place to learn his trade. Most importantly he should do it away from Collingwood and Mick Malthouse.

The main thing we need to be concerned about is that if and when he feels he is ready to coach an AFL side is that he has the experience and that he coaches Collingwood....anything else would be a farce and out of character.
Bucks gave up a lot to be a Collingwood player, Captain and eventually legend and I can't see him not taking that into consideration when he takes a coaching position.

Woosha pretty much learnt his trade from Mick.

Bucks already knows Mick's ideas. The best thing for him would be to get fresh ideas from somewhere else (Eade would be awesome IMO). Combine his knowledge of Eade's coaching and Malthouse's coaching and you've got a formidable base for a successful coaching career, which I very much hope he does at the Pies.

Wow, it'd be a weird feeling if he did take it up. Imagine the mixed feelings (all around) if he got the Wiggles up over the Pies. :(
