Should be a fine. Was careless. But his teammate was laying a tackle so there was a lot of movement.

I did notice a lot of players dropping their head and leaning in to the tackles and the umpires were not giving free kicks which is a good. Players have to start taking responsibility for their own safety.

The action itself is clumsy - but a clumsy approach is all it takes to concuss someone or worse.

Franklin did the same thing a few weeks ago against Newman. The fine didn't change his approach this time around.

It's a difficult one, we don't want to see people missing games for that - but at the same time, how do we teach players to approach contests with more care. Lienert's head was always facing Buddy and the way he approached was always going to be contact to the head. This wasn't one of those "he turned into me at the last second" incidents.
