Went to dinner tonight on O'Connell Street and as I was walking to Fellini's I saw Johnny B, his brother Danny and Mason Shaw walking towards me, I picked up who they were very late but I did want to stop him and saw are you ready to finally do something and get ready for Sydney in 12 days time or has Hinkley put a line thru you.

Most of the players probably get more then enough 'talk' from fans when they go out in public. JB probably cops more then most of this from the public.

After our loss to Carlton I'm not feeling very charitable at all towards our players but the last thing that they need is unsolicited 'advice' or 'encouragement' from the fans when they're out on their own time.

We need to know for sure by the end of this season whether he can step up or not. I'd be playing him or Harvey every single week until the end of the season. He's still never played more than 5 games in a row at AFL level. The season is gone. We need to solve a KPF crisis. Pick him, or pick Harvey. We'll get nowhere persisting with them at SANFL level and hoping they'll suddenly turn into 15 mark 5 goal every week behemoths.

I was worried we were going to be smack bang in the middle of a flag window and have Schulz go down injured, and have absolutely nothing to bring in because we've elected to ignore the need to develop a key forward.

Remember that Chinese word Crisotunity. We need to use this failed season to iron out some rather large creases in our list, and the key forward position is an absolute chasm at the moment.

Play Harvey or Butcher for the rest of the year, and we suddenly develop a bit of depth we didn't think we had. Hell, play them both! Westhoff moves like a midfielder anyway, move him down to the wing and play them both. At this stage, we have absolutely nothing to lose, and the only way we can make this year a bigger disaster than it already is, is to not get anything out of it, development wise.

In all seriousness we've had the chance to play/develop Butcher in the past and chosen instead to plump for Sam Ebo and Paul Stewart (bless him, but he's not a forward).

We're now 5-7 and have won like 10 of our past 67 games. Is it time to look to the future to see if we can have Butcharvey break out or shall we pick Jake "Clunk" Neade as a one-out option?

Butcher wasn't bad enough to put a line through entirely in R1, the season is up the shitter and Schulz has lost the plot - Butch would be as likely to kick set shots.

It's time for the Future to put life into this team again.

I can just see Butch leading for a mark 100 metres out from goal on the wing giving the thumbs up to Sarge on the opposite wing.

Actually, from a purely footballing perspective, if we're going to persist with the current gameplan, which by all indications we are, we should probably get a couple of decent sized bodies up there who have shown they can take a pack mark.

Schulz is (was?) elite on the lead, but unless he gets a clear run at a defenders back or he's one on one, he's not a pack marker. Westhoff can be when he feels like it, but he's not strong enough through the body.

Both Butcher and Harvey are stronger in a pack situation, which seems to be what 50% of our forward entries are now anyway.

It might actually improve the way we play to get one of them up there busting packs.

We're not coaches tribal one. But we know what we want..........Jake Stringer etc etc etc, Although Jake couldn't pull Warrens jocks up.
